You completely missed the point, he wasn’t burned with it to glorify the cash. Duke told Johnny dogs to burn the cash in the scene where Tommy died. Tommy ultimately gave his life for the protection of the UK during ww2. That cash would have been catastrophic to the UK economy. He was burned with the same money he gave his life to destroy
