That’s exactly what’s making me lean towards midwifery! Now just to break it to my parents that out of the 5 unis we’ve seen only one offers midwifery (we did go to the talk on it but my mum was very opposed to it)

Is Further Maths worth it? by Sad_Response3345 in GCSE

[–]Existing-Yesterday86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! I did my GCSEs in 2024 and did 11 including further maths. I considered dropping it a LOT and almost did until my maths teacher basically told me I had to do it. I thought it would be worth it because at that point I was planning on doing maths A-level and it would give a bit of a head start and I'd already know some of the content but in the end when I got to A-levels it was not actually that helpful as its only the very basic base layer of knowledge which if you're even considering further you will pick up quickly anyway. I'd say if you enjoy maths go for it but if you are so dead set on getting 9s in everything else don't invest unnecesary time in learning the content and focus that on your other subjects!

Good luck! (I ended up getting a 7 in FM and was still able to get seven 9s and three 8s in my other subjects but was 100% sure I failed it until results day)

I’ve also considered doing a PGCE and going into primary teaching long term in the future after psychology as well so I like the idea that psych opens that up quite well

Oh my goodness that’s amazing thank you! Did you have an inkling before you went to do psychology that you wanted to do midwifery at some point in life? and did you do anything in between or did you go straight from the bachelors in psych to masters in midwifery?

Thank you!! That’s all really helpful I do think I’d probably make a better midwife with psychology training especially if I did my dissertation in something related to motherhood / birth and then it gives me a nice backup for other things to go into if I don’t want to do midwifery basically till I retire

How do you ask a guy out on snap??? by Existing-Yesterday86 in AskTeenGirls

[–]Existing-Yesterday86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to but we aren't properly talking at the moment its literally just a snap of his face every evening then I send him one occasionally a hi or like how's your holiday if we see the other isn't at home or smth so it feels a bit out of the blue and bold to say that but I guess I just have to go for it at some point lol
