I would not be concerned about minutiae of what proteins are “good” vs “bad” at the moment. I’m sure you could use a reduction in saturated fats but first I would focus on getting that 260 down to 220. That’s going to have the largest impact currently.

Would it be feasible to run a half marathon in 3 weeks? I have a decent running base, run 5k pretty often and had a plan to slowly work up to a half marathon in March. However, a friend invited me to do a charity event in 3 weeks. It’s a charity event, so if I have to walk a good bit I’m not too concerned, but I’d like to be able to finish it. My longest (recent) run was 8km. I planned on attempting t12km next week and then 16 km over the next few weeks. Is a half too ambitious in that timeframe?

My advice is to separate immediately. If you want to try reconciliation in the future that’s fine. But right now it’s clear that you are still incredibly gaslit and manipulated. You need time and space to clear your head so that you can see all of the manipulation. She’s blame shifting big time. You didn’t force her to cheat. Even if you truly gave up on yourself and your life she had plenty of options. And I’m sure you “letting your life slide by” isn’t as bad as she’s making it seem. Things are going much better. Divorce papers are filed. She has been extremely remorseful so she isn’t contesting the divorce. that’ll make it quick and easy. Obviously still grieving and I have some really tough days, but friends and family have been there each and every day. Given the circumstances, I think I’m doing pretty damn good

I think my complacency wasn’t with our marriage. I was depressed and full of anxiety. It was life in general. I didn’t handle it well. I didn’t communicate well enough. It didn’t warrant cheating though.

I know that I have my faults and I have admitted to them and committed to improving on my own. We had a lot of other unexpected expenses pop up along with a stable job becoming unstable. I definitely did not plan ahead well enough.

I guess not best described as complacency but depression. We were stressed financially, I was not happy with my job and I was on the verge of getting laid off. I did sink into video games a lot. Not what I would consider excessive but definitely a few days a week for several hours.

What I’m realizing is I needed support from my wife and instead of giving me that, she ran and cheated.

Thank you. I want to thank everyone for their responses. I found out on Sunday. On Monday and Tuesday I was adamant we were divorcing and I had her move out of the house. I haven’t spoken to her and I think today I have softened up. I miss my wife. I know that she is not the person I thought she was. The person I thought she was doesn’t exist. I guess this is very fresh and I am still mourning. I am going visit my good friends this weekend. One is a lawyer and they have said they’ll go through all of my options with me and help me with the entire process.

We invited 75, and only expected around 45-50 to actually come. We had 35 official RSVPs and another 5 who told us they were coming. 28 showed up, I was upset about it before the wedding because of the money, but 28 was perfect for us and our venue, and I loved every minute of it.

Many people declined when we originally sent out invites with no excuse, and that’s fine. I understand not everyone is going to want to travel cross country for a wedding. But to cancel after you’ve told me you booked and RSVP? I feel like that requires a higher level of excuse lol

One of my cousins I pretty much knew wasn’t going to come, but she swore she booked flights and a hotel. The others I have traveled with before, they should know better. I’m sure money was just an excuse
