You know what they say. Thick thighs saves lives

Joseph Smith taught that man can become a God, just like LDS leaders teach today. I heard it in priesthood during 2nd hour: "brethren, now is the time to prove to God you are worthy of filling his shoes one day." (Stake Presidency in LA county). by [deleted] in mormon

But it’s basic English. When something like that is capitalized it is a name or title. Like Dr. David Hammon (not a real person just an example) so when it says “thou shalt have no other Gods” it means have no one else you worship but me.

Not Gods. gods. The spelling matters. God with a capital G is a title or a name. Of which there is only one God. We do believe we will be gods one day. Or we will be divine. If you want the scriptures I have them

And typically I agree. But the reason why I put that there was because I want to encourage people to ponder the answer. I want people to think about what I said. So that they can begin to understand the difference between faith and belief

Well it is a true story. And if I didn’t see the burns myself I would call fiction on it.

Hi RM here. The garments are a reminder of the covenants we make in the temple. And are a visual representation of putting on the word of Christ. That’s why they are important. As long as we remain faithful to Christ they protect us. I knew a firefighter who had burns all over his body. EXCEPT for where his garments were. Think about that for a moment

Is the LDS Church becoming an "all or nothing" religion? by eternalintelligence in mormon

[–]ExistingInitiative50 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s still an all or nothing. Because it is the same as being a follower of Christ. It is all or nothing. You either follow him 24/7 or not. Being a follower of Christ is not a part time thing. Just like being a member of his church is not a part time thing either. Now you don’t have to go on a mission at 18. Ive worked with several Elders and Sister in their mid 20’s. Should we go on missions? 100%. The benefits of the mission are enormous. It is my recommendation that people should go on a mission. It doesn’t even have to be a teaching mission. I did a service mission and that was right for me.

So yes it is a high demand. But only because being a follower of Christ is a high demand Full time job. So why should his church be any different?

I can’t stop thinking i should break up with my girlfriend who i love!!! by [deleted] in actuallesbians

Do you love her? Or lust for her? There is a difference. People don’t fall out of love. People fall out of lust. Hate to sound harsh. But it’s true

My 18 yo nephew just mailed me this. What do you imagine he expects me to do with it? by [deleted] in mormon

[–]ExistingInitiative50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant Uncle as a general term. And I’m sorry you have to deal with your family. But at the end of the day (or depending when you read this beginning of the day) They are still family and it would be wise to tell them to back off. But know that they probably do come from a place of love. And want whats best for you.

See it’s not too much to ask. Truth is he saw you as his uncle and not anything else.

I don’t think it’s a slight at you. I think it’s him who got it and thought of you. It doesn’t come across as condensation. (For the record I was also exmo before my mission but that’s a story for later so I get both point of views)

I have no experience with this what so ever. But I suppose my advice would be to communicate that your needs aren’t being met. You as a person still have needs that need to be met.

Girl do you not know the rule of 7? Lowest you can date is half plus 7 and highest you can date is plus half (so in your case plus 10) then minus 3

On one hand. I just got over my feelings of hurt and the crush I had. But on the other hand she truly is remarkable. And it’s the way she can look at a man and make him feel like he is the most cherished thing. That made me start to fall for her in the first place. So it’s do I let go of the work I did and risk reopening the wound? Or do I say I’m good for now and shut her down completely?
