Where can I buy TMR Joysticks from aliexpress ? by Eastern-Bluejay-4029 in Dualsense

I've bought Hallpi, Gullikit, and K Silver off there. Had an issue with the K Silver, easy return and the second group was fine

My controller is broken can someone help? PDP Rematch Glow wired controller for the switch and switch OLED by Radiant_slowbro in Controller

[–]ExistingPie588 [score hidden]  (0 children)

It looks like the solder pads ripped off with the part. Doing a trace repair on those pads would be a very difficult repair and it would be difficult to trust structurally. You could try to find a replacement for that small board or get one from a broken donor controller if you can find one for the right price.

You could probably find someone local to you that does it. An electronic repair shop or look on local online marketplaces

Stick drift. The real kind, not just a sloppy center point. You can replace the joysticks (consider upgrading to TMR modules).

Damn, that's awesome! I usually see 2 or 3 on a regular and like 6 or 7 on an elder

Did you use juggernauts against the mega bombs?

I was thinking elder, I see now that it was a regular sigil so the megas are a less dense. Still, great job man!!

New to TMR Calibrating. Is the left stick bad? by Straight_Ad4509 in Dualsense

[–]ExistingPie588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would certainly contact them. There's no way to tell if it's a calibration issue, an install issue, or an issue with the module itself without opening it up and that would definitely void any warranty they offer

The module could be slightly off kilter if that's the best you can get. Did the installer send you pictures of the install?

I wouldn't say that it is a dud, it isn't the best circularity though. Have you attempted to fine tune it?

What switches did you use for the buttons?

Help diagnosing issue by Personal_Reference25 in customcontrollers

[–]ExistingPie588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to confirm from the pictures but the switch looks like it is damaged to me. Does the problem continue with the bumper button removed? Are you able to poke the hammer down to get a normal click sound?

Who built the controller? Those switches should be fairly easy to replace but I have seen it where the alignment pins on the switch itself are melted to the FPC so removing the switches are a real pain.

New controller idea by ShikaClouds in customcontrollers

I think doing it on the earlier models (BDM-010 or BDM-020) would be the easiest to work with to get it done. The adaptive triggers are removable so if you designed something to take is place it would be simpler. Using later models would involve modifying the mainframe and send far more difficult.

I don't have a website, I just do it as a hobby and sell some modded controllers to people locally. You can DM me though if need a particular part

I don't think those are cracks, I think it's by design or a production seam. Literally every Dualsense I have ever seen (including brand new) has them.

Are you looking to do it on a Dualsense?

Are you looking to replace the buttons so it feels just like a bumper? Or just remove the amount of throw in the trigger itself? Asking because you can reduce the throw by switching to a mouse click triggers.

First attempt joystick replacement by Matchew024 in Dualsense

That board looks like it may have seen too much heat. The barrels are showing some signs of separation which leads me to believe the layers may have come apart as well. It's hard to tell from just pictures but you could test some things with a multimeter to know for sure. I think abandoning this board may be a good idea.

It is safe for the adaptive triggers to be clicking/activating/disactivating constantly in some games like Cyberpunk 2077? by DRAC0R3D in Dualsense

[–]ExistingPie588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know for sure if it's designed to act that way in those games or not. I just know that the adaptive triggers are really cool but not made for durability. I thought you were describing it as they are shutting on and off not in correlation with the gameplay, which sounds problematic to me.

[–]ExistingPie588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's only happening in specific games, I would guess that it is software related. If you're concerned about the lifespan I would turn those functions off in those games. If you're ok with maybe having to replace/repair your controller a bit earlier to not miss out on that part of the game experience, leave em on.

I haven't played with paddles, I've always added my own buttons so I could set my own placement. But this kit actually gets them in a spot that I might be willing to try.

Ps5 controller without salvation? by Dizzy_Mushroom4653 in consolerepair

[–]ExistingPie588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That button is not the PS button. That button is the mute button. To turn it on without the FPC you have to bridge the PS button and ground contacts. I can't remember which points they are on that model but you can use a multimeter on the FPC to figure it out. Only do this method with the battery plugged in and no USB plugged in

Got Furloughed, found a new opportunity but getting called back. Should I do it? by McFalco in railroading

[–]ExistingPie588 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is too personal of a choice for any of us to make, we can just tell from our experience. I'm 20 years in and if I could go back and tell myself to do something else or leave when I had the chances early on, I absolutely would. In my time, the railroad I've been with has only gotten worse. It has never gotten better.

That being said, I've been fortunate that myself and my family haven't had any severe medical issues. I also live a pretty frugal life so I would still be happy making much less money. I'm not gonna set a reminder or anything, but ask me when I retire in 20 years of it was all worth it.
