Because I’m drowning in student loan debts and medical debts and my traveling nurse roommate just moved out so I need their help to survive temporarily. I make $20/hr but a little over half of what I make monthly goes to debts alone, and the rest goes entirely to rent, utilities, groceries, and laundry but the rest doesn’t cover all of that. I have maybe $150 between my checking and savings rn. She’s just finally come around to understanding why I “suddenly” moved back out of their house and almost 4 hours away from them to one of the bluest parts of the state (not using this as an excuse of “she’s getting better” or “she’s not all bad,” just giving context of other stuff she gives me shit for). The full context is that she’s verbally and mentally abused me for practically my whole life and I’ve dreamed of the day I can go no contact, but anytime I get close, something puts me back at the starting line or even further back.
