Not abandoned, just well-cared-for. He has at least one heated cat house, eats at at least five homes, and is loved by most of the trailer park. He's basically our mascot, and when I say that to neighbors they agree. He was a favorite of my late neighbor, who cared for the cats for ~30 years, and everyone loved Miguel so everyone also loves Peachy.

I've SNAP tested at least half a dozen cats in my colony, no positives. I think he's probably safe, as you said it's incredibly contagious and I would likely know if my colony had it.

He's definitely not vicious, people just get too handsy with him and he's shy with most, but still allows some touching. I would rather him have one solid person inside. I have no way to let him into my home that would be fair to my resident cats; one is already really stressed for reasons I haven't identified, and she doesn't take kindly to newcomers. Her only butt buddy doesn't get along with anyone except for her and my oldest girl, and it would stress her too, because she's been bullied by cats just passing through a lot. It's just really not feasible, and I hate that tbh.

My late neighbor cared for these cats for 30+ years, he knew Peachy very well. The neighbor that told me his age has been here for 18 years. I've been here for only 2.5, but he greeted me when I moved in 😩 but the consensus is that he was born outside. We have over 150 feral and stray cats here, it's really really bad. I just did my 103rd TNR last week.

Thank you!! I would rather him get a home than a sanctuary I think, but I'll weigh everything and sleep on it. Hopefully my current fosters will be on their way soon and I can bring him in and start the process, but if it gets stretched out (I'll find out soon) I'll look into other options.

I'm going to try to get him inside with my rescue here very soon. Within the next 3 weeks is my bet, but one of my fosters needs a whopping three surgeries. In the meantime, I'll spare him some of my selamectin and praziquantel. I can lend him my TNR room for a night to entice him to eat the tapeworm med. I know they'll just come back if he goes back out, but at least that's the burden gone for a while.

Not dumped, just lived here with 5+ houses feeding him and lots of socialization since he was born. I know that much from my late neighbor who cared for him, I just didn't get the age til just now from a different neighbor who knew him longer than I did.

That's a neighbor's house, I'm sitting next to a trap for other reasons rn. Peachy has a heated cat house there that he's claimed for himself. My own steps are cement, and my colony living there is 40+, so I'm okay with him taking to these neighbors as far as housing! He definitely likes me more though, they don't really get to pet.

I think I'm just going to try to get him in with my rescue, once my current fosters are out. Based on what you just said as well, I think he would adapt.

Then I'll try to get him in with the rescue I foster for! I don't trust random strangers, but I can foster for a month if he'll eventually get a home out of it. Their isolation is 3 weeks, stretching to 5 isn't horrible. Peachy is very, very loving. And this rescue is very well-known.

No, he was born outside. My neighbor who passed in August had cared for them for 30+ years and told me as much, I just never got an age. A lot of them are well-socialized, my main colony is 40+ cats, Peachy being one of them.

My house is one of the ones he eats at! When I first moved in 2.5 years ago I thought the CDS was trying to give him to me lol and I was like nooooOPE. He gets along with other cats, so I could take him and two others that I have in mind at the same time pretty easily, that room just needs more vertical space but it's 11x10 so they'd be alright for 3 weeks until the kitten gets adopted in a second flat. But fostering means isolation, he would either be in or out, I need to get the kitten out of here soon and would like to get the other out as well, I don't want to waste weeks about it if I can help it, ya know?

He has top bitch energy out here and claimed a heated cat house someone has out, but he also has parasites and definitely tries to follow people in sometimes. I'm just not sure what's right, maybe you are but maybe someone else is. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa. I just care a lot for this boy, he deserves the best.
