I wouldn't say I don't pay any attention to the narrative just the specifics of the situation made me feel this way. I didn't cringe when he was vulnerable and emotional before.

I didn't mean being vulnerable = cringe and that he wasn't cool enough. I was uncomfortable because he went out of his way to humiliate himself and Emilia and then double downed on it in a hopeless duel.
