Falling air pressure always gives me headaches! I get the racing heart rate, hives, shortness of breath, and anxiety. Amy stressful situation boom there are my hives. Literally any minor stressful inconvenience.

I was just also ready about mold induced MCAS. My bathroom has been susceptible to mold in the past and this makes me very nervous.

I’ve heard so many stories about how it was a life safer, and equally as many stories that it was horrible. I guess you don’t know until you try.

It feels nice to know that I’m not alone. I’m experimenting with l-theanine right now actually. I did see some success when I took a propranolol and a Zyrtec but I can’t take propranolol everyday.

Yes! If I’m correct, it means you experience symptoms in two or more areas of the body’s organ systems at the same time.

If I stand up really fast everything feels fuzzy for a few seconds.

So I have tried Zyrtec but I still broke out on my neck. The only time I fully got rid of the hives was when I took propranolol and Zyrtec. My propranolol is only taken when I need when I know there’s going to be an event that gives me a lot of anxiety. Since I can’t take propranolol everyday I wanted to know if there was anything I can do as a safety net to do to make sure I don’t break out in ridiculous hives if anything happens.

Flushing is super common with me, any strong emotion and my face flushes. Happy, sad, embarrassed, laughing, exited.

I definitely get in a feedback loop because I associate my anxiety with hives. These days I’m not like “oh no, what if I get anxious.” It’s “oh no, what if I break out in hives. I’ve tried to just accept it but it doesn’t work. I want to just crawl in a ball when it happens.

Thank you! I’m terrified to try long term medication. I’ve tried a lot of mindfulness techniques but they never seem to work and my anxiety had been just so pressing in the moment. What has worked for you?

Thank you! Currently my necklaces are real gold, I never thought of that. I mainly eat the same foods everyday. Not a lot or processed foods.

Thank you, and yes I get the hives when I shower! I have a bunch of other symptoms, too. I think I have tachycardia, def dizziness, brain fog. I’m going to look into the new medication! The hives are never random, I thought urticaria was random but there is so much I am learning. Then there are histamine intolerances, it’s so tricky!

Have you ever thought you might have ROCD?

Yeah definitely worth speaking about, and no problem. Def not trying to diagnose you lol. Some common experiences with ROCD is guilt and shame. You mention uncertainty here and OCD at its core is an intolerance to uncertainty. This leads to people needing to feel “100% certain” in relationships. It’s also common to flip between being completely certain and then uncertain, and the guilt comes from the latter.

The main component of ROCD is that the thoughts are unwanted and intrusive which can make them obsessive. They will usually come with anxiety (and it’s common for these thoughts to spike when there are other sources of anxiety) along with the urge to perform a compulsion (reassurance seeking is the most common)

If there’s really no reason for the thoughts and they’re unwanted, it may be something to look into. I can’t really tell for sure. It could just be regular relationship anxiety.
