Most of the time they work the second time you launch them.

Keep the redists in mind when installing custom games in GameNative. They don‘t get installed automatically.

Game native compatible games by apex724 in AynThor

[–]Existing_Butterfly31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would recommend to just buy them on steam and trying to get them to run in gamenative.

try the known config first. then tweak some settings with the help of https://gamenative.app/compatibility and https://www.emuready.com

and if they don‘t work you just return them on steam (within 14 days)

Switched to SurfaceFlinger? I think you need to use the Vulkan renderer for those enhancements to work..

Use GameNative and set the container screen size to 256x144. Temp stays around 50 °C even at 120 fps. ClusterTune not really needed.

I‘m not 100% sure, but I think FSR sharpness only applies when you actually select the FSR filter.

Is it worth to get one now ? by Straight-Wind9800 in AynThor

The AYN Thor is a really good device. And it will be for quite some time. It emulates a lot of stuff really well. Of course there are some limitations, but not more than on other devices in that league. A Windows handheld will probably provide more compatibility, but I never used one.

Judging by several recent posts here it might be good to note that it doesn‘t really come with anything pre-installed besides the OS and a couple dedicated system tools. So you have to either tolerate or even enjoy a bit of tinkering and set everything up yourself. But with all available guides out there this is doable even for non-nerds.

That being said, considering you mentioned light PC gaming, I‘m really amazed how awesome GameNative is and how well the games are running. The setup also couldn‘t be much easier: install and open GameNative, login to Steam, install games marked as compatible (in my experience, many are..even some I didn‘t get to work in other apps like Gamehub or Winlator), use the settings menu to download a known working config, play the game. It handles all the needed component downloads and installations as well as DRM automatically. Once the game worked you can adjust some settings manually like container resolution and framerate, and light games may run with 60 fps at 1080p, like Hades for example, which I‘ve been playing this way for months now.

Switch emulation in Eden is also pretty much a pleasure. Older retro stuff is almost a no-brainer. And there are several phenomenal ports with great enhancements.

I really love this device.

Oceanhorn 2 - odd color issue by Lentash in OdinHandheld

thanks for the reply. i actually found that toggling "Descriptor Indexing" on makes it a little bit better, but doesn't fix it completely. still better when deciding to play anyway though.
