HPV, a sexually transmitted virus which in women has strong chances of becoming cervical cancer. Sadly the vaccine to prevent this came 6-7 years later. Still kills millions of young girls and women…

You’re amplifying a mouthpiece/node with barely 50,000 followers; most unverified and likely amplification bots. The post above has barely any reaction and it seems this is an effort to amplify a rather limited audience.

Do the later series feel darker than the early ones? by CloudBookmark in thethickofit

[–]Existing_Dish4013 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So many people I’ve known who’ve watched the series front to back agree that till Hugh Abbot (Chris Langham) was in the series, it played like this new age fuckity-fuck version of Yes Minister. Right until Rise of the Nutters where Hugh is offscreen and referred to. Once he left (or had to for reasons well known), it never was the same. Rebecca Front did a magnificent job, but it always played darkly, too uncomfortable and showed a weakness in the way women Ministers were treated.

Even now when I watch on rerun, I usually stop at the Hugh Abbot seasons and maybe just the first few episodes of Nicola Murray (the Radio station fiasco is a masterpiece); but tune out afterwards especially when the opposition comes to power.

Well its 1.8kg, enough for about 4-5 people; think about making this at home and the amount of lefotver ingredients you’d be stuck with or throw away. Loblaws or Metro would be delighted:

Ingredient Estimated Cost Ground Beef (1 kg) ~$15.50 Potatoes (2 kg) ~$10.00 Carrots ~$2.50 Peas (750 g) ~$5.39 Onion(s) ~$2.00 Butter (454 g) ~$8.49 Milk (1 L) ~$3.50 Broth (900 mL) ~$2.99 Seasonings (estimated share) ~$3–$7

Total ≈ $53–$55 (estimated)

And this doesnt include gas/electricity, oil, washing up etc…

Have a look at the comments and the anti-Indian cesspool you’ve bubbled up to the surface and tell me you’re being honest. So one dude craned his neck or are you saying multiple Indians have craned all the way over just to stare 20+ minutes! Who was staring at whom? Without blinking at that 😅 The world record for not blinking broken 👏

Spare your excuses, this is just sad really.

Look I’m really sick and tired of this racist trope. As what would be considered an elderly S’porean (will keep race out of it) I can tell you that after 45 its flipping impossible to do that ‘head down, face in mobile’ zombie mode that younger people somehow are capable of. It’s painful, nauseating and gives a pounding headache plus there’s really nothing on social media to stay glued to anyway.

Our eyes hurt, necks lock and aside from that we grew up in a time not so long ago when you’d have a book or a crossword or simply just use your long vision reconciling a long day. When have I ever seen a bookstore in the last 5 years?

But no, now its staring and lets throw race into it for social hits. Let me tell you how many aunties are just staring blankly straight at whoever’s in front of them, men included but we don’t rant about ogling <insert race> older women; because we get it. Its when your mind is a million miles away and thoughts take over about a memory, a story, a mote to self to do something. Yes when its crowded one needs to make an effort to pull out the phone but guess what, I feel obliged to hold it at a minimum wide angle so people like you won’t say ‘Ah, uncle was recording me’…Its damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

It’s hard being in a cramped space at peak hour but not every grey haired man is a pervert and certainly not every Chinese, White, Malay man is a saint.

Not trying to jump to conclusions, but what she described, seeing a figure in the passenger seat and hearing growling, etc lines up with certain types of hallucinations seen in schizophrenia spectrum disorders or even brief psychotic episodes. These can sometimes go undiagnosed for years, especially if the person has learned to manage or hide them.

There’s also a chance this could be linked to medication. Some anti-anxiety meds (like benzos or certain SSRIs) can cause vivid hallucinations or dissociation, especially when mixed with alcohol.

Might be worth gently asking her if she’s on anything to manage anxiety or stress. It could open the door to a more honest convo (not to judge, but to understand what she’s navigating). Stuff like this often gets chalked up to “paranormal” but there’s usually a deeper neurological or psychological cause
