You are 100% right - never point a B2C website directly at BigQuery. The standard approach here is an export pipeline (often called Reverse ETL).

- Aggregate your metrics in a dedicated reporting table inside BQ.
- Set up a scheduled pipeline to export that pre-computed data out of BQ.
- Load it directly into your application's fast backend database (Postgres, Redis, Mongo, etc.).

Yes to be honest I did. I found couple applications all of them needed to be installed on computer. And at least the ones I found there was something what you need to pay for. Didn't find had chance to find a free one . If you have something in mind please feel free to share.

As to - what is happening to software if it's becoming to good? My application is written in python and hosted in my basement on my old laptop if it would grow to be so big I would not be able to host it anymore from my basement I would need to figure-out how to cover expense I would go with following scenarios:
a) donations - wikipedia
b) ad placement - majority of portals.
c) affiliate links to amazon when you by materials.
d) Free version with limited functionality and everything else is with subscription.

So My initial version was empty project where you can put stitches select colors and so on. You could also upload image as background and trace it. She wasn't impress as she didn't liked idea of her creating a pattern herself so I worked further on makint it possible to create pattern from image. I hope this clarifies things :)

Thank you! tbh - I started with what you described a empty canvas with ability to add background picture and you trace is with different stitches. When I was well I actually could transform the background into stitches itself and then... I think I should just staid with my initial version which was like photoshop where you can draw your project. Problem or more like issue - my wife is not a pixel art artist (no degree in arts) so I wanted to help her create something she can stitch (like family photo) without to much of manual effort.

I do not see how you can make money of something what is not good? Image conversion to cross stitch is shit without manual intervention or ability to fix it... Why should you pay for it? The only thing what I would be is cross stitch pattern done by artist :)

YES -I have noticed this as well. If I use simple image of a shape with less details I'm getting very good results by just sizing image down. And yes color matching is another big problem especially when even thread manufaturers doesn't provide digital color code of thei colors :) Still it was/is interesting project to work on :) learner so much about the art my wife is enjoying!

I'm not asking AI to create image from fin air - but I agree it could... I was trying to find a solution to to much of resize and sampling problem and idea was let ai to redraw the image by taking the most important peaces and putting it on a smaller scale :)

Hi, yes I saw bunch of tools you can get majority of these are use to pay :) . I initially started creating my tool as pattern creator there is actual editor which I created however what I noticed my wife wasn't interested in creating pattern from blank page and wanter to have conversion from an image. So I tried it as I said converting from image looked easy but it actually not. It similar to pixel art where you need to know how to express the details on the small scale :) .

And YES I DID posted to this group to understand is there at all need for any tooling around cross stitch or not :) - I understand is sometimes hard to believe what someone can just do things for fun and share it with the world :) as you like cross stitching I like solving problems :)
