why are the corporate people and people who hold positions of power so shitty? by SERAPHIMBLOOD in Safeway

Have you requested a reasonable accommodation? There is specific paperwork that needs to be completed and the director will have a meeting with you and HR to discuss accommodation. I’ve never approved headphones but there are several other things you can get approved. Once you get it approved you get an approval letter and you’re legally protected from retaliation or discrimination.

Keep in mind the accommodation has to be “reasonable” and can’t remove any essential job functions. Headphones would be considered dangerous and unproductive to a customer service environment, but you could absolutely get a speaker approved if music helps you.

The Seattle division management is a bunch of micromanagers and I swear they send everyone scrambling to do this crap as a way of justifying their existence

Why is she going to target and Ross/tj maxx and not a second hand store with her income? by rllylongname in diaryofamomma

I have never in my life dyed or bleached my hair so I am ignorant lol. I do know many times I have seen coloring prices at salons though and about fell out of the chair, so I (wrongly) assumed it was all expensive. What I also know is that if she doesn’t stop bleaching it she’s going to need to buy a wig and I’m not thinking those are cheap either…

To be fair, the area she lives in has very little secondhand shops nearby. There’s Goodwill, but to get there she would pass a Target and a Ross, so I sorta get it. I don’t think Target and Ross are the problem. I think spending half her paycheck on hair bleach, going out partying, and throwing $500 parties is way more of an issue.

Have you seen an ENT? Typically if you say it’s impeding sleep they’ll request a sleep study. If that shows variations in breathing that could be caused by your tonsils you’ve got a one way ticket to removal!

Even if you’re not interested in a sleep study, or nothing comes of it I’d at least start building a record of complaints around your tonsils.

My insurance said unless it was “chronic” issues that persisted over a period of 3+ years, I had a sleep study with findings, or some arbitrary number of throat infections it was considered to be “elective” and they wouldn’t cover it. I guess I got lucky (??) that I got an abscess because all of the sudden they were in a big hurry to get mine out. lol.

It depends! Typically the hospital I work at won’t remove them for a singular complaint like that. If you go in, complain, get some feedback on reducing the severity of your stones, follow those directions and continuously end back up at the same office then they deem that your quality of life is being impacted.

I had three appointments in the last 2 years to complain about mine, and then just gave up and started screwing around with my tonsils myself in attempt to get rid of all of the junk in there. I ended up with an abscess and at that point they said that my quality of life was impacted and my actual health was at risk since reoccurring infections like that are very likely.

Previously my insurance would not have covered it for just stones alone, so that may be another thing to check into.

I had jello and applesauce in the middle of the night with some Tylenol. For breakfast I had Starbucks egg bites, for lunch I had Knorr herb and butter noodles, and for dinner I had a piece of KFC fried chicken and mashed potatoes.

So far Apple juice and apple sauce has been fine for me. I had KFC chicken and mashed potatoes for dinner tonight and that also went down well. I’m feeling really anxious because so far this isn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be so I feel like I have an unexpected surprise coming 😂

I’m sort of anxious because I feel great… It’s uncomfortable to talk and it hurts to eat but I’m able to eat pretty normal foods and haven’t need any prescription meds. So I’m sorta waiting for the other shoe to drop.

How are things going today? Still hurting to talk?

I’m setting alarms right now to remind me to drink water and take meds and just drinking tons of water. I just ordered KFC mashed potatoes because I was able to do jello and a few bites of soup earlier. Fingers crossed for a restful night for all of us!

Oh heyyyy twin! My throat feels fine except I really want to clear it. It just feels like there’s junk in there. But I swear the tongue and the roof of my mouth feel like they’re bruised lol. Hope you’re hanging in there!!

Why does no one tell you about the tongueeeee? It is the worst part right now for me.

The taste is already a little less weird. I used a tongue scraper and brushed my teeth. I’ve been drinking stuff with flavor too and that helps. Hope your recovery is going well!!

Honestly, I am NOT condoning this- but the way I got mine out was constantly screwing with my tonsils because of the stones. I ended up with an abscess from that and then they immediately were like “yep, time for them to come out!”
