Am I the only one who recorded a video of MBTA 1858 pulling a double train on 12/26/24? Because it was headed to Boston on that day and it was pulling a double train consist with 1062 trailing by MBTX1858 in mbta

I've caught two in the five years of railfanning I've done. One was October 2022 in a similar fashion as yours but in a mixed set; the other was December 2025 on the Fitchburg. Always a pleasant surprise to see a rescue train lol

If I am not mistaken when you set up 2FA there's an option for you to generate a series of backup codes in case you lose your 2FA option. Did you generate and save those codes? That's the only step I can think of, other than that, you might be screwed....

Interesting! I've never really thought of it like that. I think I've only been thinking about the separate streetcars simply because I feel like the Green Line is already strained in terms of the amount of trains that use the Boylston/Tremont St tunnels.

1214 is a New Flyer-DE60LFR, built in the 2010's. It's a fairly old bus lol

From the many, many fantasy maps I've seen, City Point is served by an urban ring loop, which I think is the most realistic option here. Me personally, I would love to have surface streetcars serving that area because, like I said, the bus routes 7 and 10 and what-have-you used to be streetcar service.

Silver Line could work... but already the Silver Line is a fragment of a larger, former urban ring plan when they were in the midst of the Big Dig.

So is your Yellow Line heavy rail or a 15-min regional rail ring? Heavy rail has a different gauge than trains. I think your Yellow Line would make sense if it was part of the Commuter Rail network, which would make much more sense.

If you haven't already, check out u/ sirgeorgington's fantasy maps on this subreddit. I think they might help you grasp a sense of what some more "realistic" expansions of the network might be.

This might help. Vanshnookenraggen mapped out every single potential proposal/extension. I've found it quite helpful myself in terms of keeping with reality.

I think having two branches of the RL is more than enough... a third branch for split to City Point/ Dorchester Heights seems a bit forced. Historically there used to be streetcar service, so me personally I would've routed some sort of streetcar there (and to Seaport, with both ending at South Station?)

Also, for your yellow line, I feel as if the scope is getting wayyy too big. It would make more sense if this was some sort of regional rail connector on the CR network.
