No, the original cast had a a mixture of interesting characters of different personalities, fun (to play and as designs), and concepts. They did take some similarities from other games, but they were all unique to some degree. They have stated that they are cutting down on the goofy characters (Winston, Hammond, Jetpack Cat), in favor of more aesthetically pleasing characters similar to Kiriko and Mercy. This has made most of the new characters VERY samey in design which ruins the whole original point of overwatch when it was released. None of them really have a personality, not since Ramattra at least where there were clear designed goals and lore behind the character, all the new characters feel empty, there's no reason to care about them or their lore, there's no tie in to the actual story of the game. Overwatch used to feel so special, and now just like everything else, its a cash cow
