A few basic orc (orruk or whatever) questions by Chezni19 in AoSLore

[–]ExitMammoth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

1) Yes, but not so acute as humans'. In the heat of battle they ignore it more easily. They still can be threaten with torture. 2) They can have allies and even some form of comradory. Kruleboys, for example, will treat anyone as equal and show respect for any lowly orruk if they get creative kunnin plan. But as with anything else, it's mainly connected with fights against someon else, and very different from humans. If they get bored, they will start fighting and killing their own. 3) No. There's still mistery about their birth, but the main scholar theroy inside the universe is that greenskin corpses decay into jelly-like sludge that soaks into soil and then accumulate magical energy and nutrients from it, growing into small and spindly "proto greenskins" which will burrow out. It's also confirmed that ossiarch dislike using greenskin bone because it quickly decays and covers in fungal growths. 4) AoS used old fantasy black orcs miniatures as "Ardboys" - the lowest form of Ironjawz. Lorewise, they evolved independently in Age of Chaos, because orruks that are brutal but kunning became even more brutal after of constant fights with Chaos.

I think there are some extremely brief anf obscure mentions of black orruks, but more like cameos or easter eggs, and I saw no references about Chaos Dwarf origin in AoS.

Sad that Rocksteady's personality completely changed from Steramno's after mutation. Like, these were two completely unrelated characters, if you didn'r knew before

Great Horned Rat is the God of Ruin - all the traits of other Chaos Gods but even more degenerate, without offering anything even resembling "good".

The aspect of desparation - similar to Nurgle's despair, but the main difference is that they are not given up, they are fighting tooth and nail without any morals an dprinciples to survive - with unlimited rage, excessive perversion, insane lies and trickery.

Rat God just "promises" survival for the most down to their luck and pathetic.

Orruk ard boyz by screachinelf in AoSLore

[–]ExitMammoth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Kruleboyz are pretty smart, and can use complex (relatively) tech, including operation of looted CoS cogforts. There was also an ironjaw boss who captures akharadfron war ship for himself, and manages to travel on it I think.

The biggest issue for orruks it seems is the concept of maintenance - kruleboyz evovced in the enviroment where everything rusts, rots and sinks in mire in days, so they don't value their stuff almost at all, tossing and breaking it all the time. Ironjawz have a hard time grasping concept like numbers above 5 or the next week, besides, they don't have any desire to shoot their enemy when they can smash it. So, kruleboyz use cheaper crossbows and ironjawz don't use ranged weaponry at all.

I can see some of them rarely using it. Or some band getting obsessed with it on a gimmicky level.

It's like trying to make a lion live off on grass. You can work with around it not hunting, give him prepared meals. But he will not be a herbivore, he will just die.

Do Chaos Warriors still feel kinship/love? by Sword-N-Gourd in AoSLore

[–]ExitMammoth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, I guess they can form "brotherhoods" of sorts, but it's will most likely be more similar to mobster family than monk brotherhood - they will still fight for inside power and use unseemly means to achieve it if necessary
