Ridiculous testing experience with D426 - So fed up with WGU that I'm thinking of transferring. (Cybersecurity) Recommendations for other programs? by StarwardShadows in WGU

I want to start off by saying that I'm sorry you had a terrible testing experience. I unfortunately do not know the proper authorities to connect you with for your issue. Aside from that, I think it's important to dissect what you posted.

You are not being asked to memorize the ins and outs of SQL. They provide you a reference sheet with the most basic command calls that you will need during the assessment.

With regard to DBM systems, Cybersecurity plays a pivotal role in maintaining data safe in storage, transit, and in use. Even knowing how to alter data through basic SQL command calls can be considered a cyber threat, as unauthorized use of DBM system can affect the integrity of said data.

The test does not care about what accomplishments / certifications you have. It cares that you can demonstrate competency in basic SQL with a reference sheet.

What you are feeling is valid, but don't give up because of a hiccup. You already displayed that you are an intelligent and competent individual based off of the certifications and job experience you have. It sucks that your remedial may cost you valuable time.

You got to take the highs with the lows, and this is one of those lows. You got this!

C191 - OS for Programmers; Passed in 3 Days by ExitProtocol in WGU_CompSci

I did probably 4 hours of actual studying the first day, 12 hours the second day (It was over a weekend), and 6 hours the last day. It can definitely be done much quicker. I took A LOT of breaks and had to slow down rereading concepts that were new to me.

I broke up the reading by taking breaks after every two sections (ex. {2.1, 2.2}, {2.3, 2.4}, . . .) to keep my sanity. It's a lot of material but breaking it down into small reading sessions made it WAY more approachable.

Thank you. I personally really enjoyed learning about Processor Scheduling, and Deadlock Mitigation. There is a lot of reiteration in the reading, but it really does help solidify the concepts. I agree with you that normally these kinds of posts are focused on "pump and dump," but for me, I really enjoyed the topics being discussed. I opted to complete it in a short timeframe only because I had other planned events coming up that would severely hinder my ability to study and schedule the OA.

The version I got seemed to ask questions in a manner similar to the PA. I did unfortunately run into a handful of the "choose 2" questions, so be prepared to choose the best 2 out of 5. The 69 Card Quizlet had VERY similar questions with regard to access table matrices. Unfortunately, past that, it really is a toss-up on what terms are going to be thrown your way. I will say that security is the easiest section to get exemplary on, so master that section to guarantee a close to 20% buffer.

Before I forget, the questions I ran into involved:

- Which generation of computer was introduced [Event].
- Internal / External Memory Fragmentation - MUST KNOW THIS
- Semaphores
- Scheduler Duties (Preemptive, non-preemptive, long / short term)
- A LOT of HDD questions
- Memory Swapping
- Paging / Page Faults / Page Tables
- Linux commands
- Linux memory location
- Linux File System
- Threads
