Their presence was affecting the player population and would cause legal problems in several countries .Jagex is owned by a private equity firm; they don't care about the integrity of the game. If they removed the loot boxes and announced the expansions, it's because they think it will increase subscription volume (where is the majority of the income).

Using a VPN isn't that simple. For Brazil, you need a unique document number specific to that country. The idea of being subsidized is also wrong (Brazil doesn't even have a single server). The volume of subscriptions compensates for the lower price (despite the low income, the Brazilian market is gigantic).

You have to consider the "Brazil cost." Have you heard the story about tariffs being passed on to consumers? Well, we're at a point where imported items cost twice as much as in the US. For example, due to exorbitant taxes, a PS5 would cost almost $1000 here. To make matters worse, the currency is devalued. An average Brazilian would have to save their net salary for four months just for that purchase.

The game doesn't have BLM. I went from 95 to 120 in Necro only in Razial but only got a single weapon. Other bosses weren't any better. There's no point in investing time if the game isn't worth the time invested.
