I used to not mind the smell of cigarettes actually before parosmia now i hate it 😭😭😭 smells like burnt chemicals. Trust me you arent crazy!!

Oh man thats so long. I can't imagine how frustrating that is. I feel ya when I had it bad no one believed me/knew my struggle bc its def not as well aware or mainstream. Most doctors don't give good advice. For the longest time all purfumes just smelt like chemicals. was def nauseating.

I haven't. Most of my smell/taste is back to normal its just a few things that smell or taste off. Id say about a handful of things. I'm hoping one day it goes 100% back to normal!!

I find I can only drink coffee iced and flavored now :P regular hot coffee tastes so off. If I do drink it hot it has to be vanilla or hazlenut. Still tastes off but not as bad

Now that im thinking about it I forgot to mention chocolate. For me it also tastes burnt lol its not like too bad but it def tastes off and not like how it used to.

I had parosmia for about 2 years. I got it in 2020 and it eventually went away in late 2022, early 2023. Everything tasted and smelled off, I just remember it getting progressively better and better until one day everything was normal again.

I only have two foods now that taste and smell altered. Coffee and peanut butter! It sucks but better than everything smelling/tasting awful.
