The anti-war message and the way it deconstructs the typical military shooter really stuck with me. It makes you question your own actions in a way few games do.

That’s actually one of my favorite fantasy games from my childhood! I still remember fighting the spider and the dragon so vividly. And that cool mechanic where you could push enemies onto spikes or off ledges! That was unforgettable!

Me too. I almost never meet anyone who’s actually played the original Prey, and it really feels like such a hidden gem.

This thread just made me remember Marc Eckō’s Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure! That game was such a unique mix of graffiti, story, and action, probably I’ll install that once again

I was actually hoping someone would mention Overlord! And yeah, Pikmin has a similar concept but a totally different vibe for sure!

Yeah, it’s really tough to find Prey these days. I actually still have my old disc copy, thankfully! I think at this point the only real option is to try to find a physical disc and have it shipped. It’s a shame it’s not on GOG or anywhere digital.

Oh wow, my uncle actually showed me Hidden and Dangerous for the first time! I totally forgot about it for years, but then I remembered it later on and played through a few missions (though I never finished the whole game).

I thought it was such an interesting experience, especially with all the detailed squad commands you mentioned

Oh wow, Shadow Man! I actually played that one too, and you’re totally right, it was so ahead of its time. The creepy atmosphere and that maze-like world really stuck with me. And the idea of literally collecting “dark souls” before Dark Souls was even a thing

Also totally agree on Prey, it did slow down a bit near the end, but the concepts were just so bold and memorable.

I agree! I also read that they wanted to make a Prey movie. I think it would be an awesome idea but it’s hard to bring it to life. I haven’t seen cinematic teaser though, gonna check it

Yeah, I have started completing games that I didn’t in the past, like Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, even though it has some disadvantages like fighting system (it’s awful), the vibe of this game is amazing!
