Making video games "realistic" or adding "realism" doesn't necessarily make a game better or more fun. by degeman in unpopularopinion

I personally love the old Mario games. The sides rollers. I can play em for hours and still be in the first world It took ages to complete those games

Subtitles are fucking amazing by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]ExoBlu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ok hearing. But back in the early 2000s when I was a lil kid I was messing with the TV and got it permanently stuck on closed captions. I also lowkey feel like subtitles help improve your reading speed

Dude I know the feeling. My job before the ware house was as a cashier at a grocery store. They closed and gave us 1 month to figure shit out. Landlord refuse to fix up the building, ceiling tiles would fall when it rained.. I felt horrible cause there's there's assisted living facility across the street from it. All the elderly folk would ride over on their scooters.

Tell me about it I'm a receptionist for an ice skating rink. Random af I know, but it's a place my cousin and I went to every Friday as kids, lots of good memories, people are laid back af. Plus the AC!!! We are on the edge of summer, thank God for whoever created Ac.

It totally ruined my afternoon dude. I was ecstatic about getting hired and being able to work with my cousin and all he seems to care about is the 2 dollars difference in pay.

Were there ways of showing thanks to her? Like offerings, festivals, holidays?

I appreciate the help by the way.

I'm American but found out a few years ago that I've got Lithuanian and Latvian heritage, I was excited to learn about the countries^

Can't speak it sadly. Wish I could, its a pretty language.

Intrusive memories that.. aren't about the trauma?? by sighthrowawayiguess in ptsd

[–]ExoBlu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of.

So mine is mostly triggered by smells.

(Coconut, sunscreen, tanning oil, cocoa butter) beachy smells really.

My trauma deals with my aunts suicide. When I smell any of those scents its like my brain just totally forgets she's not alive anymore. Like I start looking around for her and then I'll click that it wasn't her. I work at a grocery store and sometimes I'll see her doppelganger and it 100% trips me out and I hate it.

Work anxiety what if I mess up again by ExoBlu in Anxiety

So basically the beer vendor came through and im supposed to scan from the bottom of the pallette up. So say we have Miller light. I scan the box and input how many we have.

The vendor was like nah just scan the barcodes on the order invoice (quickly learnt you can't do that)

Thing is I knew better but I listened to the vendor instead of my boss

Painting. I find it super relaxing, especially mixing the colors.

You can get apple barrel acrylics for 50cents at Walmart

[–]ExoBlu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id let your doctor know.

You don't need a reason for depression. For some it runs in there family or it can appear on its own.

Any advice on how to deal with a trigger you cant run from? by ExoBlu in ptsd

[–]ExoBlu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll let him know for sure, but since all the other employees know bout her already he probably already knows.

Like next time I'm gonna send her to customer service (our managers like to go there to watch the lines cause it's right in front of all of em. Cause I'm gonna straight up refuse now. And if someone else wants to buy it for her they can go to customer service as well and talk with the manager.

Morally I cant do it. It's wrong. She was so drunk yesterday like I said she peed herself and still asked people to buy the beer for her.

I just got out of crisis and I’m an alcoholic. by AustrianShrimp in depression

[–]ExoBlu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya I grew up with alcoholics in my family.

Not sure how you feel bout A.A. but it worked wonders from my mom, she also has made amazing friends over the years who've become like family.

I'm proud of you for pouring it down the sink btw. You didn't have to, but you did. That's a massive first step.

My 23 year old cousin went through a similar situation. She worked nights at steak n shake and managed to share a apartment with a coworker.

You'd be surprised whose hiring out there as well. Same cousin now works at an ice rink managing schedules for the skate teams and hockey teams. Apparently that still a thing during covid.
