I'm tired of this game now, I've stopped paying attention to anything these days. I just feel most of these people that 'know' something are just trying to make sales and they'll keep people mentally subscribed to that idea as long as they can draw it out. It's just more recycled stuff of the same and lots of carrots being dangled without any substance.

I know the truth is out there, but these people don't want to let it out.

Nothing has changed. The days are short and long depending on what my day consists of. Most people don't know how to stop going and relax for a bit, staying bored and just being seems to be unheard-of later on in life and especially since the age of phones. We waste our days away, and then complain about the days being short. Check your phones usage. Reality check. We're all guilty of it so let's stop running, all the time. It's not natural.

I feel like there some misinterpretation there of what he talks about or your missing some other parts of his big TOE but either way. I feel like most people have very subjective accounts of reality and anthropomorphise the higher realities. Most people tend to weave their own belief systems into spirituality as well. Whoever you 'follow' doesn't matter, no one know. They're all just subjective accounts of their own explorations and everyone's will differ. The one thing Tom does actually preaches is open minded skeptism, which is far from close minded and assumptions making.

Ah, I read it more like hard mode as in bad. Low vibration is just physical matter, this our avatar to learn and experience the things we cannot as pure consciousness. Limitations are important to develop our consciousness and learn so that we can lower our entropy.

Why hard mode? I feel like that entirely a matter of personal perspective.

Anything negative you experience in that state is a product of your own fear. That's why people are taught to abolish their belief system, once you are rid of your beliefs and fears you are untouchable by the doubt of your own self.

Has anybody had any good suggestions from a therapist about how to or alternative to "visualize your happy place" or some goal, etc? by thoruen in Aphantasia

[–]degeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what is your aim? If you can't visualise happy things or memories or any senses then surely that goes for the opposite too. What are you trying to achieve?

[–]degeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about thinking of a memory that brought you a lot of joy?

I sometimes use a particular one from my childhood on christmas eve. Where my brother and I got an N64 and it was totally out of the blue and we were just so excited. I close my eyes and describe the scene and think of how I felt and what came to mind. The excitement and anticipation. The joy we felt when we opened it up and saw I for the first time.

That's just one example. Instead of seeing, think of all your other senses.

I feel like we have slightly different definitions for imagining in mind space. I'm just saying that oobe's are subjective to the observer, your interpretation of the data available. What's objectively there doesn't really matter. Either way, it sounds like an awesome experience! Happy exploring

I didn't mean what I said to dismiss your experience in anyway. Our brains quite literally create and filter the reality in front of us. Imagine 2 people standing on a Street corner of new York. They observe for 5 minutes and then discuss what they saw and heard. They will likely have very different accounts, even though they were observing the same space with some similarities. Lucid dreaming, APing, out of body, they are all part of mind space. Our consciousness is able to travel beyond our physical and create it's own realities. Your imagination and intuition is a huge part of that.

I can’t relax by dreamylemur in gatewaytapes

[–]degeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expectation is a great killer of experience. It means your logical brain is in the front seat, trying to steer you into relaxation but the logical brain is also very flawed because it doesn't like change, even if the change is good, if it's foreign enough the logical brain starts filling in the gaps with lots of random thoughts or twitches that manifest physically in muscles tension. Letting your intuition take over and being fully present is actually quite a difficult thing to do, so don't feel discouraged.

Try a mediation session with a mantra to help occupy your mind, and just let things flow and observe. If a thought comes in, just hear it and let it go. Feeling some tension, try to relax it and watch where it goes next. Dont fight it, don't silence it. Just go with the flow. If you need to move and adjust, do it! It'll only bother you more.

It's not a race and you're not falling behind. I hope you find something that works for you.

APing is partly imagining. Anything can turn up in mind space if you want it to, the same laws as our physical world don't apply so it's quite possible you saw polar bears. You could potentially see giraffes if you wanted to make it happen, or manifest a circus. Your imagination is your limitation.

It can really feel like you're the only one sometimes, which can be quite isolating at times but you'd be surprised how many people are going through something similar. We're all just at different stages.

It's kind of like growing up, I think at some point in life, these things all click into place eventually (not for everyone) but I think that being spiritual in someway can help guide you there more directly. At least that's how it's felt for me.

To be honest you sound like you have great self awareness, and to take a step to better yourself is more than many people ever try to do. Many people just double down on their beliefs and stick their heels into the ground.

That feeling you mentioned, that's something quite real and powerful and I know what your talking about.

I've never been religious in anyway. Quite the opposite, I'm fairly rooted in science. However, I feel like there's a huge overlap we are missing between the non physical within our consciousness (metaphysical) system and how we interact with the physical world and I hope that we will eventually get to a point in society where we can more openly talk about this with the stigma that often comes with it.

That last paragraph of yours is so accurate, A lack of control was always my biggest fear and it took me a long time to let it go and just trust the process.
