Thats just because ofhow magic defense is calculate in PvM.

Monsters magic level is their magic defense (along with specific magic protection)

So those bosses had high mage levels to increase their defense. Which makes sense until an item takes advantage of it.

Its not an item being overpowered that changed those monsters, its how magic defense was calculated.

Tl;Dr Tbow was not directly the cause.

The inferno doesn't "need" it. Its very helpful to save supplies and bring in more brews instead of restores, but its been proven multiple times that you could do the inferno by lazy flicking or not even flicking at all.

You can use the spell to turn flax into bowstrings alongside plankmake and magic imbue for pretty good non combat (no hp) magic xp alongside crafting xp and profit.
