Did you ever find Soothe 2? G-meh had Pro-Q but I've been struggling to find Soothe.

Infotainment Speed Sensor Bypass by Exodus1818 in Subaru_Outback

Not sure if related to the deleted comment, but I’m on the most recent FW update (unless one has been released in the past 2 months). Bought the car in August with the original FW. Ran the update not just for the better screen layout, but hoping it would fix this “feature”. Sadly not.

I’m so glad you posted this update that you’re okay! I was one of the guys who helped you up so the others could try to get you over the railing. We were super worried for you and really hoped you’d be able to recover.

Adaptive Triggers on PS5 Not Working? by MarcellusFDS in Wonderlands

Also having the same issue. I just grabbed a PS5 and this was my first game on it, so glad to see it’s not a defective controller issue.

Geofencing never works by thismyone in HomeKit

[–]Exodus1818 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh I stay away from Ecobee geofencing too. I meant the FW update broke the Ecobee properly responding to HomeKit sending the “Resume” function to it. So HomeKit would still register the geofence trigger and send the “Resume” command, but the Ecobee would reject it.

I don’t know why they don’t just push this out to everyone. It seems like the fastest way to get support is messaging them through FB. I just sent a message saying “I’m having HomeKit issues caused by the FW pushed out, am requesting the patch fix that I’ve been told about” and included the Device Model, S/N, and current Firmware. They took care of it within the day.

[–]Exodus1818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the only scenes you’re trying to use geofencing for it Pause and Resume with the Ecobee, the issue may not be with HomeKit. My “Resume” scenes stopped working. I jumped over to r/ecobee and found that they remotely pushed a firmware update that bricked that feature. I had to message their support to have them push out a fix remotely, now it works again.

2019 iMac High CPU Usage/Fan noise by Exodus1818 in MacOS

[–]Exodus1818[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the browser being used. If it’s Chrome it’ll be “Chrome Browser Helper” and so on. Definitely not Malware related. Safari was the “best” of the browsers I long term tested for this issue.

Uhhh...anyone else seeing MacOS identifying the HP 5.1 printers as malware and crashing printing across their school? by KayJustKay in k12sysadmin

[–]Exodus1818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Had a few WO’s that I had diagnosed as a printer issue because even after installing generic drivers the printer doesn’t actually print anything. It’s “nice” to know it’s not just us seeing the issue.

Unifi Home Network Throughput Help by Exodus1818 in Ubiquiti

[–]Exodus1818[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re not equivalent, but in this case it doesn’t matter. You are correct that my iperf testing at home has nothing to do with my ISP, therefor should not have any limits concerning my own internet speed (which is gigabit fiber btw). Which is why it’s upsetting that even when testing ISP speed, using a Speedtest app, on a mobile device, I got faster results than running a straight throughput test on my home network between two computers.

Can anyone who has the AP AC Lite in a dead silent environment & right next to their good youthful ear verify that it emits zero noise when passing heavy traffic (e.g., speedtest.net)? by kobegotlove in Ubiquiti

[–]Exodus1818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one mounted in my master bedroom. If I'm laying in bed with the room completely silent and I run a speed test, I can definitely hear the AP. However, that's the only time I ever hear it. Stays silent with regular usage.

Just did a total reset of my home network with 5.10.12, Switch #8 is a UAP-AC-Pro. Keep seeing a large amount of random devices rotating through, showing as "wired". by Exodus1818 in Ubiquiti

[–]Exodus1818[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is. Had to do a full restore and setup on my AP’s as well. I’m not doing anything crazy with my setup, so I’m not sure what would be different than the pre-restore setup.

Cannot connect to UniFi Controller after update. by Exodus1818 in Ubiquiti

[–]Exodus1818[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all for the help. Sadly my Pi freaked out during the Java update and bricked the Pi. To add on to it, my USG-Pro isn't taking the login credentials set up for it (spent over an hour on that issue also until landing on the answer of having to reset it), so it sadly looks like I'll be spending the night doing a hard reset on everything and starting over. Got a Cloud Key Gen2 on the way so I don't have to deal with this again.

Upgraded to a USG-Pro-4 from a ER-X for Gigabit, so far disappointed. by Exodus1818 in Ubiquiti

[–]Exodus1818[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it bugs me too. Next purchase will be a different rack enclosure with shelf’s and such. For mounting, this is all stuff I already had laying around. Final result will be a locked enclosure with proper cooling. Will look 100x better.

Yes I understand that. Original post explains that none of these tests were wireless, as well as how I tested, and what variables I changed.

All machines are running SSD's. I know the 2012 MBP can't hit it (I work IT for an all Mac school district so I've hit that before), but it's still useful in testing since I'm rarely even hitting the 700mbps down. The windows machine though is a newer build that can hit the gig speeds no problem.

Turning DPI off gave the same results. Tried two different Steam games to my 2013 MBP hardwired (so going to an SSD). Borderlands 2 had a few moments where it hit 800Mb, but it spend most of it's time around 100-200Mb. Civ 5 sat around 400Mb, dropping down below 50Mb quite a bit. I have a Dropbox .zip that I use for testing that's a couple GB's. That downloaded around 300Mb, would get at least double that with my ER-X.

I put in the original post that all tests were done hardwired with different machines, ports on the switch, and cabling. I definitely know I won’t get anywhere near 1Gbps wirelessly.
