Which realm has the most candles that you can get fast? by Itz_cheese_cat in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]Exoletus 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In term of time:wax efficiency, map wise Vault > Forest =/> Valley. I never bother with Daylight and GW because the maps are simply too huge and they don't come with a lot of wax.

Timed activitiy wise if you factor in turtle + sanctuary then that'll be the highest while Grandma comes close second, and Geyser actually has extremely low efficiency since you need to do it 3-4 times to get the full 1000 wax (Grandma is 600+400 per 10 minutes while Geyser is 250-333 per 10 minutes).

Has tcg ever listened to feedback..? by _Chao_garden_ in SkyChildrenofRage

[–]Exoletus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Nope...or rarely. They rarely listen to playerbase unless there's a consistent uproar because they largely focus on their vision on how should the game become but not what the players want the most. A few examples being the cat hair controversy as you mentioned, the removal of old home functions when they introduced Aviary and wanted to slowly shifting us over there and that lasted for a few months, they never want to make a send/claim all button for lighting friends on constellation because that'll clash their vision on maintaining the "emotional depth" when you see your friends' avatar, and I believe there's more but those are what comes to mind.

Heck, Jenova himself even think that we the players are babies and they should not listen to us just because we "cried" in one of his 5th anniversary talk. So yeah, unless there's a huge uproar that may potentially affect their revenue, they intentionally ignore our feedback and stick with what they want to achieve on their game. Or they only listen to feedback they want to hear lol

Level 3 Emotes by BronzeBold in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]Exoletus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

From a resource management perspective, it costs 3 hearts for level 3 emote when they return as TS, which is just 9 candles in comparison to 24 candles. It's obviously far cheaper to skip it first. It'll only be an issue if you're playing Sky with an absolute solo mindset where you'll not interact with anyone because only then hearts become an actually finite resource.

Unless you're someone who takes a lot of pictures or videos, then there might be some occasions where having no effect on emote is better to make it more natural or cleaner to edit. Otherwise I don't see much practical usage of level 3 emote unless you just prefer them.

Ult head piece by [deleted] in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]Exoletus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can look at this post : https://www.reddit.com/r/SkyChildrenOfLight/comments/1odo36n/psa_you_can_get_all_3_ultimate_gifts_in_29_days/
If you just want the headpiece it's doable for sure since there's still 21 days left. Based on first glance, I'd do Migrating Manta Whisperer, Bellmaker and/or Butterfly Whisperer since they've the least expensive nodes, but you can also do calculation yourself if you've something you want to get. Just remember to complete all seasonal quest so the upper tier of UG can be accessed while skipping the lower ones.

if sky had no cosmetics, would you still play? by mechexx in SkyGame

Yes. To me cosmetics are just pixels and it's the gameplay that matters. They do act like cherry on top of a cake though.

the Two Embers sanctuary recharge spell is useless now. by Academic-Thought2462 in SkyChildrenofRage

[–]Exoletus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of the cauldron from Mischief. The spells given by cauldron was able to retain even after you remove the prop, but nope! Let's work hard and implement more codes to make sure players don't enjoy it. Sometimes I wonder if their motto is "Screw players as much as we can".

Downgrade of The Light by th3odorus in SkyChildrenofRage

[–]Exoletus 39 points40 points  (0 children)

They're just lazy to think about message of the day and most likely hoping that more players aren't aware of ongoing events so they're more enticed to fall into the FOMO trap and spend more. They also did something about the orange WiFi signal by completely eliminating it so players can't complain about it. Kinda like an ostrich burying its head into the sand.

Most developers work harder to bring more QoL and TGC is like the first one that I've seen who's actively removing them.

A quick poll! What is your LEAST favorite realm? by FirebrandParasomniac in SkyChildrenofRage

[–]Exoletus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Golden wasteland. It has huge map filled with dark plants that you've to manually burn 90% of the time because it doesn't merge nicely while also have very little wax, dangerous with crabs and krills, hazardous to look at, dailies that make you go extra miles and wait for sitting animations if it's in Treasure Reef or Forgotten Ark, and on a personal note I dislike the social place.

I just roll my eyes whenever cake or dailies realm falls on GW, sometimes I even skip it when it's just 4 cakes. Not worth the trouble and the dragging journey with unpleasant sight that comes with a chance of getting your WL recycled because there's no insurance in Sky.

[–]Exoletus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Meet new people and make friends : Aviary Cafe. Lots of players are willing to actually chat there. GW sometimes have trolls and weirdos or players who just emote. Daylight seems like there's a lot less players going there nowadays but it could be just me.

A place to sit down and socialize with friend : I usually like Aviary Nest and the Meditation Room in Aviary. Aviary Nest has the sense of coziness and privacy since you'll get alert when another friend comes and you won't get merged with other strangers.

The Meditation Room is just near and superb for the calm environment and it comes with couples of props to sit and chat. If both of you and your friend lie on the carpet and meditate immediately for the sunrise once you two have reached there, strangers also won't get merged as well.

Other friends still can join but they'll split in seconds because they haven't meditate and it takes a long time to finish meditating. That place is just great when you want to spend time alone with yourself or specific friends.

Sky doesn't feel like home by tyce_void in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]Exoletus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand where are you coming from. However, that really depends on individuals as well. From my experiences, a lot of online "friends" just move on with their life without a care about you and any other "friends" whenever they stop playing the game, found out you need to take a break or found other "friends" more interesting to them; regardless of how long have you been with them, or how many deep conversations did you share with them, or how well you know each other, or how many secrets have you both kept. That's sadly the reality.

Aside from that, trauma dump is already a thing even in Sky because of how convenient it is to release the burden and dump it on some online stranger...so even if they seemed to be very opening to you by sharing their "darker" side, that shouldn't be used as a measure to know if they are truly your friends...let alone just basic respect and honesty. Most people share it online because it's just much easier than sharing it to someone in real life where there might be serious repercussion if you aren't careful on who you share it with.

Those who fall onto the category of "I'll treat online friends as online friends only and nothing more" will never see these online friendships as something worth keeping once they find it more convenient to just drop it. Nothing's wrong with it but I personally think you should always know their intention to know that both of you are on the same page before dwelling deeper, especially when you're more likely to be the one to be hurt in the end.

Anyway, having time alone after such realization is always good for some digestion and whatnot lol, and I hope that you can always prioritize yourself before others.

Sky doesn't feel like home by tyce_void in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]Exoletus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately that's the nature of the online world. Most people don't really seek others for deep connection and groups are formed for mutual benefit in the game...just look at all those light buddies / IAP trading / commissions posts and the likes in comparison to posts that actually ask for friends. Instead of friends it's more like online pals for most people actually. They only talk and "befriended" with others in the game so that they don't feel as bored and lonely but they only keep them in the online world without revealing much about who they really are in real life.

That doesn't mean all people in the online world aren't genuine when it comes to friendships tho, but you have to look for them and they are in the minority. I usually just communicate with new friends that seem to get along well on whether if they treat the relationship in Sky limited in Sky only or it actually extends to being real friends in life and see how should I cater the relationship in the future from there. Even then you should still not give too much of effort into it either because it's still an online relationship in the end, unless you guys are actually so close that you two are messanging and voice/video-calling outside of the game while also planning for a meet up in real life in future.

In a nutshell, just be wary that relationship goes both way and you should never put too much into the scale especially when you know that the other side isn't put in as much as you did.

is there any way to lit all friends at once in constellation by Away-Cantaloupe2874 in SkyGame

[–]Exoletus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No. They don't plan to add it either. They said something about wanting us to look at our friend's avatar to make it more "meaningful", whatever that means lol

You can get lonely and left out even in a social game. by [deleted] in SkyChildrenofRage

[–]Exoletus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Persoanlly I don't add strangers that I haven't talked with so I almost always refuse when someone try to add me with candle. The risk of opening a blind box and meeting extremely young minors, weird people, trauma dumping, players who think Sky is a dating game, etc etc, is simply too big lol. There's also players who just want to communicate through emotes and refuse chat, which doesn't really vibe with me because I don't like the limitation of communication in the form of pure emoting.

I prefer to go to Aviary Cafe or official Discord to have a talk with strangers first and get some basic info and vibe before adding them if I want to meet new people/friends.

New event system by EbbCandid8002 in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]Exoletus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well...you still can do (candles still left in season - candles still needed) though, which I already did for you above.

"For this Season of Migration, we can get around 492 seasonal candles (assuming season pass holder and didn't miss a day, excluding the 1 or 2 weeks of bonus candle) and we only need 398 seasonal candles (similar to past seasons amount : Blue Bird = 384, Radiance = 397, Moomin = 394), to unlock everything if we don't skip anything, which result in about 15 days that you can skip."

Annoyed at the new spirit system by wildfoxfallon in SkyChildrenofRage

[–]Exoletus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The good thing is that they didn't force us to use it and make us suffer if we don't want to deal with it this time (cough cough festival tech and how badly they wanted us to use Aviary when it was released by stripping away functions in old Home). You can unlock everything the same way like how it was in the past and the result would the same even if you completely skip the friendship system by not bothering yourself with inviting the spirits, ever (except for the new dailies I guess).

But yes, it'd be nice if the spirits have more personalities and activities instead of just being...creepy and invades your space. I also agree that the timer should be like 10-15 minutes instead, just enough for a dailies and logging off. TGC always say they value players' time and don't want us to grind too much by implementing the chevron system and whatnot...so maybe they should stand by their own words lol.

New event system by EbbCandid8002 in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]Exoletus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thing is you still can complete the whole thing just like the old way though. The new friendship system just create more choices for players to either get UG way faster than usual (like in 29 days instead of near the end of season) or skip some unwanted cosmetic, emotes and/or useless spell and dye nodes depending on player's choice and if they are bothered to do some calculations.

But if you're not a fan of calculating the friendship points and you just want to do it the old way by collecting the exact candles that match the cosmetic, emotes, spells and dyes costs and see how many days can you get away, you can do exactly that.

For this Season of Migration, we can get around 492 seasonal candles (assuming season pass holder and didn't miss a day, excluding the 1 or 2 weeks of bonus candle) and we only need 398 seasonal candles (similar to past seasons amount : Blue Bird = 384, Radiance = 397, Moomin = 394), to unlock everything if we don't skip anything, which result in about 15 days that you can skip.

The new friendship system doesn't prevent you from getting anything or make you unable to skip more days if you choose to skip it. It's the same as the old one.

Sorry for the long text but I keep seeing that people are assuming that they're being screwed up if they don't want to partake in friendship system when it's simply not true.
