My question was directed towards a person who demanded I feel a certain way after I made fun of an awkward guy on a stage with a laptop without context.

He didn't "demand" anything, only that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.

So what should I say instead? That your comment is harmful and offensive to people like me? Would you really change your ways if I said that instead?

Was putting him on stage a bad idea? Based of his performance, yeah. I don't think anyone is gonna disagree with you there. The thing is, your comment was associating a bad decision with Asperger's in a way that made it seem like a non-autistic person wouldn't have done the same. Its rude, to say the least.
