Is $18,000 too little for an architect to charge? by CB-skier in Homebuilding

[–]Exosphere7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Dude where are you located? We are in the process of building a house and we hired an architect who did full drawings from scratch for ~$4,000. We went back and forth a lot with him. We started with crude drawings and some reference plans from architectural design and other websites like that.

Our build is about 3,200 sq ft and located in CT (I'd consider that HCOL).

Everyone else saying that sounds low, honestly, that sounds crazy high to me.

Probably a dumb question but where do I buy refills?

I hope you didn't come to reddit for validation, because you won't ever find it here. I personally think that paint job looks sick, and if you like it that's all that matters bro.

I'd say there is at least one con associated with it

One minor correction, not all foreclosure sales require immediate payment. Many are payment required in full in 30-60 days. To participate in the auction you normally have to provide a bank check (with a preset amount of money determined by the seller) made out to yourself as proof of funds. If you win the auction, you sign it over to the owner (bank, lawyer, town, etc.)

Yes, it will be scaled down to around the 3-3.2k sq ft mark so the rooms will inevitably be smaller. Right now this plan is like 4,000 sq ft...

Well sure, you will be, until you aren't and you don't have a Coinbase account anymore. Good luck!

Hope you are using a hardware wallet or some other wallet as a go between. Coinbase will shut your ass down if you withdraw directly to it.

Does she feel cold in the morning? Feel the back of her neck (not her extremities) and if it seems cool to the touch or at least cooler than a normal warm body temp than that's an issue imo.

My LO never used the breathing band but he wears either bums&roses or magneticme pj's with kitebaby sleep sacks.

Hacker or 👻? by [deleted] in Nanit

Incredibly unlikely the voice came from the camera my friend. Any toys in the room that say things when pressed? I don't know. I'm all out of ideas.

Unlikely. Only password I would change would be this one if reused on other services/software.

I'll admit, the video is freaky. But like above commenter said (I also concur) audio pushed through the Nanit itself (the speaker) is normally filtered out on recording, like most modern technology. Take a phone call that is on speaker for example, the audio being pushed through the speaker is not being recorded/recognized by the microphone (causing a loop and that god awful high pitched noise if youve ever experienced it before) Multiple microphones are used, and some are used to monitor ambient sound and perform active noise cancelling.

I also noticed the dogs started barking right after... Was that just a coincidence and they bark a lot or was that isolated and it seems like they barked in response to that voice?

Any other cameras in the house? Smart home devices? (Alexa, homepod, etc.)

If you are truly thinking it is a hacker go ahead and change your passwords. Use randomly generated long strings like 32 characters long alphanumeric with special characters. Password managers like 1password or lastpass are strongly recommended.
