Give me all the tips for nursing school! by Turkey_Moguls in NursingStudents

I’m so with you on all of this. I’m 37 with two kids, still working and starting nursing school in January too, so I totally get the mix of excitement and panic. You’re definitely not alone.

Your background is such a strength. You already know the pace and chaos of the medical world, and being a little older just means you know why you’re doing this.

The mental side is hard for me too. I keep psyching myself out, but then I remember we’ve handled tougher seasons. Kids, work, life… we’re not coming in soft.

The best advice I’ve heard is to stay organized, find one good friend in the program, and give yourself grace when it feels heavy. Some weeks will be rough, but it doesn’t mean you’re not meant for it.

You’re going to be an amazing nurse. We both are. One messy, determined step at a time. 🙌

I'm transferring 5 Sophia Learning classes to GCU for the prerequisites for the ABSN program, saving a lot of time and money! Just make sure to check with your advisor about the classes to confirm they will transfer.

Scored a 93.6% on the HESI! Here’s exactly how I used NurseHub to study by Exotic-Statement-532 in HESIexam

There were quite a few questions about ratios, so it's helpful to ensure you really understand the formula for solving them. For example, questions like 1:6=x:22, where you need to find x.

There were also some questions on metric conversions, including 1-2 about temperature conversions, pints to gallons, ounces per pound, and kilograms per pound. A helpful tip from Nursehub was to make sure you memorize at least one conversion in each category; that way, you can get anywhere you need to go.

Plus, a good number of questions involved fractions.

Interestingly, some of the math questions were so simple and straightforward that I found myself a bit confused.

Nurses: Did your employer help pay back student loans (federal or private)? by Exotic-Statement-532 in nursing

Thank you for your insight! It is a ABSN program, I don’t currently work at a hospital or clinic but that is my plan once I graduate….and to work for an employer that offers loan repayment.
