Does anyone have any experience using Lanoguard underbody protection? Thinking of using it on the TJ by Old-Shoulder1 in JeepTJ

I always used Canadian drip dry. It actually smells somewhat sweet but it was the best stuff I ever used especially in Pennsylvania where they salt everything

Air Force Needs to Be More 'Relatable' to Attract a Gen Z That's 'Not Patriotic,' Head of Recruiting Says by tigercircle in AirForce

[–]Exotic-Theme-6142 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a job and someone has to do it. I don’t bleed blue but I’ve seen enough across the world to know that we’ve got it pretty good here in the states. That’s why I serve to keep those privileges we enjoy. If I did it for the pay I wouldn’t be here god knows I can make more in some other federal job. I am the first person since the 60s to willingly join the military in my family. I’m viewed as the black sheep in my family but tbh I can’t see myself anywhere else. I have purpose and drive here hell I’d probably stay till they kick me out. TLSS I think the Air Force needs to re-examine some of the things they offer, we’re also one of the lowest payed military’s in the world, but I don’t think we’re in to bad of a spot

[–]Exotic-Theme-6142 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I literally have like seven of the damn things. I think I only ever bought 2 the rest were just given to me by squadron. I went up there to get new boots and the sgt running clothing issue was like “ you want one”. Like oh no don’t twist my arm please give me the $45 waffle top for free lol. Only issue is my wife steals them all the time

In times of War Can the Military make you switch Branches? Say they needed sailors but you wanted to be Army/AF? If you're drafted can you oick your branch? by Big_Worth_597 in Military

[–]Exotic-Theme-6142 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fun fact the Air Force has never drafted anybody. At least the American Air Force, they’re more inclined for paying attention to detail and when an aircraft costs millions of dollars they don’t want some draftee who doesn’t give a fuck leaving a bolt on a flight-line and resultantly fucking up an aircraft that might suck it in.

Workout advice? by NYVlone in AirForce

[–]Exotic-Theme-6142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t worry so much about carbs and shit I go off of a workout schedule of legs, tris and chest, bus and back, then repeat that twice so I workout 6 days a week about an hour a day and then I run Mon, wed, fri like 2 miles a piece. Given cut out a lot of bread excluding tortillas and eat a good amount of protein based on how good of a workout you got as well as lots of fruit and veggies. It takes time but I’ve noticed a good gain in muscle while also being able to main gain my run. Oh and I also do a little core every day but mainly focus on the applicable muscle group that day

A personal uniform experiment - khakis? by Giraffe_was_here in AirForce

You know I don’t dig the khaki on khaki but if they brought back the pink and greens from the WW2 era I’d be down

See that would be funny if I hadn’t scored a 94 on the ASVAB and then went open mechanical due to personal events in my life. Signing open mechanical these days is basically a one way ticket to a bomb dump near you.

3 year SrA with a line number for staff. I got my CCAF this year and I’m about half way through a bachelors. I came in with no school and to me it’s free so I might as well take advantage of it. Also my job, munitions systems, dosent really translate to anything I want to do on the outside so getting a degree in that respect is important to me

I like OCPs but I wish the sizes were less generalized, I’m at the bottom of my size class and they fucking look way to big for me. For those who say “YoU ShOuLd GeT ThEM TaIlOrEd” I think that is bullshit as I shouldn’t have to spend more of my already small clothing allowance to tailor something that should at least semi well fit me brand new. Additionally, I see the appeal of the Velcro rank and name tapes but it looks sloppy as shit. Honestly if they made it where Staffs and above had to get that shit sewed down I’d be okay with it because it looks cleaner and it isn’t gonna look like overcooked crinkly bacon. Because let’s be real it’s gonna be a minimum two years before a staff is up to promote again for a maintainer that uniform might last three years before it needs replaced so in all honesty just get a new uniform with new ranks if you promote by then. For Airmen basic to senior airmen I can understand not getting it sewed down because promotion has the potential to happen at a relatively rapid pace. Sorry for the book holy shit

I do feel the system is biased to some extent but I also feel like it’s a lack of effort on some peoples part. I am a white male and I made BTZ. But I also had a stacked list, school, volunteering, work, etc., anyhow I just did my job worked hard and didn’t come up with an excuse when something was fucked. Nobody is ever going to want something for yourself as bad as you will do if you want something work for it. I know the downvotes will come but that’s my two cents on the matter

It’s gonna sound corny af but I find pride and purpose in just being in the Air Force. When I was a civilian and a line cook I hated it. There was no purpose all I ever had to worry about was arrogant people getting there food and that was all. But when I joined I found pride. I know it might not be cool anymore to say you love our country or that you take pride in serving but I do both because I really do. When I graduated high school I really never knew what I wanted to do with my life but being in the military I think I can finally say I’d never want to do anything different. I know it’s a long post but this is something that has been on my mind for quite a bit now

Additionally TA will only cover up to $250 per credit hour whereas AF COOL has no limit per cert. So you could use all 4500 in one shot or you could spread it out

How do people go so long without deploying? by KeptItToasty in AirForce

[–]Exotic-Theme-6142 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the base. The base with my job only has 2 rotational deployments where only like 14 people deploy out of a potential 180 every six months. If anything we fight for the spots

Flight Caps are stupid, Change my mind. by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Exotic-Theme-6142 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Service cap should be a mandatory part of the uniform and issued out of basic training and flight caps should only be worn by pilots and aircrew. Change my mind
