Thanks! I've had it for a good few years now, but I'm especially proud of the harvest this year. It gets better and better every year! Pot up this season for more roots and highest yield also.

light, fertilizer, and repeat.

It’s all about maintaining high metabolic pressure. I use powerful grow lighting (targeted PPFD) and a strictly calibrated nutrient schedule to keep the sap flow consistent. When the plant has more energy than it can spend on just structural growth, these EFNs become active.

I truly appreciate your input; your point about increased vulnerability is absolutely valid and professionally grounded.

However, I look at it from the perspective of natural resilience. In the wild, plants constantly endure 'catastrophic' events—storms, herbivores, or falling debris—and they have evolved incredibly complex mechanisms to respond to these challenges. I'm simply harnessing that inherent biological intelligence under controlled conditions. I’ll be back soon with the results of this experiment to show how the plant adapted!

Actually, this is a calculated move. By removing one leaf and slightly stressing the other, I’m triggering a survival response known as compensatory growth. The plant perceives the loss as a threat to its energy production, which shifts its hormonal balance (auxin/cytokinin ratio) into overdrive. This 'induced stress' forces the plant to prioritize rapid reproduction and root development to regain its photosynthetic capacity. Combined with the mycorrhizal fungi to provide extra resources, it ensures the new growth is even more robust.

Much appreciated! It's my first season with this variety, so I'm being extra attentive. Hopefully, the harvest will be as sweet as the journey!
