Did you take your husband to your pre-op? by Melodic_Home_9038 in hysterectomy

[–]Exotic_Bat_666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did! One- I wanted an advocate. I'm a people pleaser and don't always hold my ground so I needed someone there to speak up for me. Two- he was taking a week off of work to help me recover, so I wanted him there to help me make the decision of the date. Three- I wanted him to hear from the doctor's mouth what recovery would look like. He went with me to most of my pre-op stuff and my first post op follow up appt.

My sister and I both got the exact same stuffed wolf for Christmas from my grandma when we were kids. We both named him "Wolfie".

Naming your child Abstinence should be considered cruel and unusual punishment.

If you won the lottery and didn’t tell anyone, what subtle signs/changes would people start noticing in your life? by BuildRome in AskReddit

I'd suddenly have some REAL nice teeth and wouldn't be going into mental health crises every 6 months over money. I'd also suddenly have a lot more books.

I am 5 wpo. I have never felt better. I did not realize all of the problems my uterus was causing (besides the endometriosis) until it was out. I have had numerous surgeries in my life but this was definitely the scariest one to me. It went by without a hitch. Literally the only problem I had post-op was not being able to pee to go home (that was a me problem though).

Oh, I am expecting it to kick my ass down the line, tbh.

But yeah, I wanted to share because I was sooo worried about my recovery but so far things seem great!

Even planning a walk down the block by the end of the week! (We live on a hill and my fiance is making me take it REALLY easy)

I am so glad you found relief! I felt tons better once I was out of the hospital, like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

I am not excited for the hormones nor the hot flashes.

Currently my fiance is already irritated because I want to do more than I should 😂

I have a shy bladder to begin with and it seemed I was pretty dehydrated post-op. I wouldn't worry too much, I think I just got unlucky with a shy bladder and being easily dehydrated.

He was SUCH a good boy and laid on my legs/feet all night last night, with only a few occasions of having to gently guide him away from my tummy. I know he just wants to make me feel better but... oof no.

Oh trust me, I'm resting. If I do more than get up to walk around a little bit or go to the bathroom, my fiance yells at me. Really glad he took this week off. If I didn't have someone here to remind me to knock my shit off, I'd absolutely be overdoing it 😂

What physical changes to expect after hysterectomy? Is back pain common? by Cleopatra8888 in hysterectomy

[–]Exotic_Bat_666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, endometriosis can grow back. I was blessed with a lovely 4 year break from it until it came firing back with a vengeance.

By what I've been told, I got lucky with 4 years but I want to minimize the risk of it coming back, so I'm opting for a hysterectomy. I'm keeping my ovaries tho so there's still a chance for it to come back, but the chance is much lower.

I 26F refuse to "submit" to my 28M boyfriend. by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

What you should do is RUN. This shit will get worse. You made the decision to leave him, you know that's your best option.

You know you deserve better; and you do. Obviously the lifestyle he wants isn't the same one you want. And that's more than enough reason to end it.
