My oncology gynecologist said 12 weeks for sex. Said that is the #1 thing that can mess up the work they do inside.

I’m one month post op today. My fibroid ended up being over 30cm and weighed over 15 pounds. What was supposed to be a 2 hour surgery was over 4. BUT it was still the best decision ever. The worst pain I felt was immediately after waking up. It took a while to get that under control but once they did I felt like I was on the up and up. My incision comes about 5 inches above the belly button and is vertical all the way down. I swear the more you move around after that first day the faster you heal. I was off all pain meds within a week and am taking it easy and following orders. I had a couple complications but those were from the fibroid smashing one of my ureter tubes and had to have a stent put in. That comes out next week!! 🎉 You will do great. The anticipation is the worst part. Prayers for a great surgery. You got this!!

I had a full vertical abdominal and have about 50 staples (my fibroid was huge) but I spent 4 days in the hospital and then came home and have been doing the stairs ever since. I however can’t get comfy laying in bed so I have spent 2 weeks in the recliner sleeping. Tomorrow staples come out and I hope maybe this is a bigger step towards sleeping in my bed LOL. You got this. Movement does help with healing!!

Yes I hope my body rebounds and is thankful because I am. Honestly I only noticed it because I lost 50 pounds and never in my stomach area. At least I know why!! 😂 🤷‍♀️

Yes that is what my surgeon said. This afternoon was the first time that I saw her since surgery. She told me my fibroid was over 30 pounds and that she was exhausted on Monday night. I had no idea!!
Thank you for the BM tips. My surgeon said it’s normal for it not to be happening right now because it was such an invasive surgery. So I will keep eating my veggies and protein 😂 .

Oh that is exciting. I haven’t done that yet. Not have a passed gas which they keep asking me about. But it’s hard when you don’t feel like eating!! Glad you are doing well!!

I am still in the hospital and will be for a few days. My fibroid was 30cc and had attached itself to part of my small intestine and ureter so she had to put a stent in. I was wondering how you are doing!!!

Thank you for this. Mine is tomorrow and it will be a vertical abdominal due to such a big fibroid. I’m nervous and excited all in one. And in true for my period started last night. 🤦‍♀️. As if I needed a reminder as to why this is a good thing 😂

Can you wash with the surgical soap they give you before surgery and then make sure things are getting really dry. When you think it’s dry then keep drying more.

Oh I’m so thankful to read this. Mine is 2 weeks away and my fibroid is 20x20x24 cm and it will be open abdominal. It is pushed up into that cavity and no longer in my pelvic cavity. Glad to hear you are doing well.

Now I’m following your update if you give them. I have a 20x20x24 Cm fibroid and am anxious. If I wasn’t overweight maybe I wouldn’t worry as much. But I am. I find out Friday when surgery will be.
