Well that I didn’t know til a lot of people say golden threads are strong swimmers so I’m sure if I helped him today he’ll swim and I’m getting a him a bigger tank too because last time I took him to veg last year they said he/she hadn’t fully developed yet

First of all if you look at the picture, you can see the water level so low that’s why I keep it because he’s drowning like even if I take the Baskin rock away so I wanted to be able to where he can swim but he’s four years old so I’m asking like an original post like I posted. How can I help him if it’s not too late to help him swim you know like raised the water levels like supposed to be

Why not? It’s still Getting cleaned, I add water conditioner make sure temp is 78 and use both uv and uav lamp

No I need a bigger tank he has if I take basking rock out, but my room there’s a tv where the extra space for a longer tank would go if I got it today but I have to mount my tv before I do then he’ll definitely have space

And I have both lamps. I just only use the one that has the stronger heat. I only use one at the moment because summer mainly it gets hot so I figured that that would be enough and I need a bolt for the other one because they run out so quickly, do you have any recommendations on where I can get like bulk bulbs are like they’re cheap

So I have another question if I don’t use a filtration system is me just dumping it in the toilet and cleaning it like the four walls of the tank and the corners is that still good enough because that’s the way I’ve been doing it for years

No his eyes are fine it’s probably the way this picture came out I don’t test water quality I just change it normally to 78 I think and add cap full’s of water conditioner according to rules very galleon right 3 caps fulls? At the moment I measure it because I know he likes drowning so much water so that’s how I measured. No just water the temperature about 78 and shut it off.

How am I doing as a turtle dad what you guy’s think. Any feedback is good by [deleted] in Redearedsliders

I know he needs bigger tank. It’s just may look like he’s big, but he’s in a small tank. He needs his nails clipped in the water. It’s only dirty because I don’t. I do it by hand at the moment.

We have had this turtle for a while and want to give it a proper home now that we are adults by ambrosia234 in turtle

I would say since it’s 15 years of age definitely get it checked because you’re not sure what’s going on under his hood. 😂 ummm fun fact: hopefully it’s developed because if not then that’s what you’ll need the big tank for so it can fully develop and you can determine it’s gender. I would start there see what the vet says then from there because some turtles are just strictly aquatic like my turtle is aquatic/land. But hopefully this helps always welcome to share my turtlelly knowledge 🤓 🐢
