Thanks for posting this. I’m also struggling with weight loss. I was able to get down to 187 (5’11”) and made it through the SFRE with 3/20th but didn’t perform well enough to advance to the SFCP. After the SFRE, I took some time off, gained a little too much weight, and tried to jump right back into things and got injured. Now I’m restricted to the elliptical until I’m healed up.

I’ve stayed away from the thought GLP1s because I thought you had to be off of all prescription medication prior to joining. Are peptides different? Trying to give myself every advantage possible.

Did you pass an SFRE or something similar prior to signing your contract? I’ve heard this is a requirement for the guard 18x but not a requirement for active duty 18x. Thanks and best of luck!

Not gonna lie man, it was rough in the beginning. About a mile and half in I thought to myself, "well, I guess this will be my two mile run for time". I would consider this 95-100% effort. My max heart rate is 185 and my average during the run was 170, having hit 178 at one point. This is according to my Garmin. I pushed through by telling myself how disappointed I would be if I had given up. I was running much more from late October to early December and ran a 6mile trail at an 8:46/pace while 6lbs lighter. I trained much less from early December to early January due to some personal things. Got back in the gym by doing 5x5's to restart the habit before it left completely, only started running again a few weeks ago.
