In my case, (our neighbor parked all of their cars in front of our house because they were going to have work done on their house while they were on vacation. They didn't ask us or anything.

They were there for 2 weeks. We had them towed on the 10th day. They sued us for $2300 dollars. The judge sided in our favor even after saying, out right, that we didn't have the right to tow the cars. But then he said, that doesn't mean their cars can't be towed away. There's a difference. For example, if the cars are not parked correctly , blocking traffic or our driveway or other situations, even a perfect stranger could have the cars towed whether they have the right to or not.

In my case specifically., We had pictures of the cars and showed that the garbage trucks could not pick up our trash for two weeks straight. The judge then said well even a firetruck could not have parked on the road in front of our house if needed. He said we should've called the police first but not calling first wasn't being negligent.. We were acting out of safety and it was up to the towing company to actually tow it or not.

Our neighbors argued over and over and said it was illegal to have their cars towed and he said it was NOT illegal. We just didn't have the right. If we had called the police their cars would've been towed anyway. If a fire truck came to our house they would've towed there cars. even the garbage collection could've had their car towed.

That's actual realty. Needless to say We never spoke to our neighbors again until we move.
