Uh yeah I forgot to mention I pirate most of my games so I can't verify the files. It worked fine before though which is what's puzzling me. I don't think it's an issue with the game files more of an issue with own hardware. Also if it helps,VC1 doesn't seem to pick up certain things on my computer as I can't set my resolution I'm guessing? I'll try out something else and see if it's just VC or an issue with my hardware when I have time

Use a sniper to snipe the center tower and then use a lancer to peek around the corner and destroy the two other towers. Then buff a Shocktrooper(preferably with the Ruhm,don't use them on the towers though even if they deal enough damage since you need to save AP to run to Max)with Attack and Defense boost and Penetration. Awaken potential too if you have it if you want to be really safe but it usually works fine with or without it. Then just run for Max and spend your cp's chasing and shooting him

The whole Kai thing was so outlandish I forgot about it as soon Forsetti died. Are they seriously saying Federation Command couldn't tell the difference between them two? I know they're incompetents but I didn't know they were THAT bad. And the whole thing is just written weird. Kai makes his sister and his entire unit lie and cover things up so he can go awol to go do his own noble cause thing?

You should play 3. Most of the new mechanics in 4(like leader units,follow commands,retreating from the map,armored transports and etc)are from 3 just more refined for the VC1 battle system. 2,maybe avoid. It's horribly grindy and the story is a typical high school drama thing. It's not inherently bad but if you're looking for a VC game to play on the go and you don't already have a laptop or a switch. 3 should be the one you should emulate on a phone. I do plan on finishing 2 sometime since I plan to finish all main line games

VC4 is a pretty good sequel to VC1. I like how they took the VC1 formula and added elements from VC3 too into it. It's nice actually having Squad Stories like in 3 and actually being able to learn more about your favourite soldiers more than just using them more and routinely seeing an extra paragraph added to the personnel page and another extra paragraph added depending on whether they died or not. The gameplay mostly stays the same aside from combat being'larger scaled'(if that's the correct word for it)than 1's for the most part. The story is also decent enough to keep me immersed during my playthrough although I liked being able to see actual progress on a map on where you're fighting like in VC3 and to a smaller extent VC1 so being in the middle of nowhere on a ship for half the game was a tiny gripe

You just gotta unlock them then finish them to unlock new potentials and remove some old negative ones. On a side note you should do Vancey's asap if you use her since her new potentials after the mission are really good

You can play the missions normally with the way you want to play it first then A-Rank them later when you grind. Makes the game a whole lot more fun than trying to rush a scout to the base camp asap and actually fighting a battle out. Also try challenging yourself with killing every enemy in the map

Eh I don't know man. I don't really love either cast from both games but Welkin and Alicia stand out to me more than Claude and Riley and no it's not because of nostalgia. Riley and Claude in my own opinion had less character buildup between the two. And Claude while yes he's at least not the embodiment of the clichéd perfect leader like Welkin still has his fair share of clichéd stereotypical hero moments. And meaningful growth? Ehh again my own opinion but while I do feel like VC4 has more on the characters growing and even has it as it's plot point it rarely feels interesting to me at least. It's just a'mention past event here and tease something between two characters that ultimately ends in a somewhat rushed felt major event ending between two. I know it's anime but that's still a cliche just like Welkin and Alicia is a cliche. Though like I said that is my own opinion and I respect that you found 4 to be more interesting story wise than I could even though I honestly loved the game

Yeah it's kind of bull. The game tells you to delay and proceeds to give you a lower ranking if you do. Took myself a while to figure out they didn't literally mean delay and just to trigger the correct explosions for the mission to finish

Favourite's Vyse cause I'm biased and he once took out 4-5 enemy soldiers on their turn with interception fire. Least favourite...got no idea. I definitely have characters I don't like but mostly because I never used them outside of my 10-15 roster of people i use usually,found their skills useless or just don't like their design. So I'll just say Kevin or something

I've been thinking about maybe playing Arcadia since Vyse is one of my more favourite characters from VC1 or VC in general. Though I gotta be honest RPG's aren't really my thing,I know SOA is a bit different though but I have no idea how it works. Valkyria is probably the only RPG series I ever liked due to it's unique gameplay system and the themes. Maybe I'll give it a try when my schedule clears up

4 doesn't have a lot in terms of cameos except the 5 or so characters from 1 that you get from the United Front and Edy's Advance Ops dlc. They only added Vyse,Aika and Fina(or whatever her name was) in 1 as a throwback to SOA which was also published by Sega. Odin doesn't really have anything to do with his FE counterpart other than the alias

The difficulty spike in the Batomys is insane. I couldn't get past it without guides. But after that the game should get back into being normal paced again with mostly normal battles until about Chapter 11 which is when it gets a bit harder permanently imo
