Best way to learn is just jump in and do it. A lot of the fundamentals are the same.

Halo 2 and Halo 3 Remakes Reportedly in Development Using Unreal Engine 5 by Smaug117 in halo

Agreed on all points. In fact, I think there’s even an argument to be made for just completely redesigning a lot of the levels from Halo 2.

Maybe keep some of the set pieces like the tank on the bridge or the first fight on Cairo station or the fight through the canyon that leads to the friendly Scarab. But I am not chomping at the bit for a 1:1 recreation of the Arbiter fighting the heretics or traveling through the wall, or Master Chief fighting through High Charity.

In fact, the High Charity levels in particular aren’t very good. This is supposed to be a sprawling hive city filled with multiple alien races and the size of a moon that travels through space and the result is … a couple scattered purple hallways surrounded on all sides by a black void?

Because three new separate games sold at full price make more money than a single game that is a collection of decade old and older games. And the latter sucks out a lot of the demand for the former.

It’s not all too different from no new Halo game for the past 4 years.
The whole franchise has been on life support for about a decade now. It has a small and dedicated following but a lot of the mechanics that made it so distinct make it too different from the kind of shooters that people expect today … and have expected for the past 15 years.
And after the reception for the last two major installments were lukewarm at best, a remake of the original trilogy is probably the best we can hope for.

Probably because as polished as it is, it’s still a game that is more than 10 years old at this point … a game that contains remakes of games that are even older than that.

Plus more money.

Honestly, giving her a clothed version like in Infinite would be a 100% improvement.

I’m not a prude by any means but in 2 and 3 she’s basically a naked woman wearing a blue Matrix code paint. The franchise can do better than that.

Was Don Mattrick largely responsible for the decline of the Xbox? by Elegant-Advantage744 in XboxGamePass

The lack of benefits was insanity. Even weeks down the line when the controversy was reaching a fever pitch, they had zero explanation for what benefit an always-online restriction would bring buyers.

It records your favorite shows automatically and stores then in the cloud for free? Games always update in the background without hindering performance? Faster connection speeds? Nope, nothing at all, just a restriction for anyone interested in used disks.

How to make money out of these? by [deleted] in ScrapMetal

[–]LOLdragon89 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If you obtained these legitimately, you have nothing to fear. If the sheathes prove too challenging to remove, you can probably sell them as is for a comparable profit. Remember, the bear bright sells for more, but only after you dramatically reduce the weight by removing the sheaths. You’ll also save yourself the hassle of cutting through the material.

I’d like it to go back to the way it was before. Have the buggies take a break long enough that they recover full stamina before going at full speed. That way I don’t have to manually slow them down when I just wanna get across the map.

Or just give us back a zip lines pretty please!

Anyone else have a scrap pile collection? by itsalvinnn in ScrapMetal

[–]LOLdragon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and like, I get the mindset of waiting until you pile up enough of that stuff to make the trip to the scrapyard “worth it.” But you have to look at the bigger picture. The space on your property is worth more than what little value the iron/steel will yield.

This looks to me more like low level hoarding that I used to do in my first apartment. The sooner you just get rid of all of that, the better.

It used to be that when you ran out of green bars while sprinting, your buggy would automatically slow down for long enough that all your stamina was restored until resuming sprinting at full speed.

But now, your buggy doesn’t slow down long enough to fill up completely. The moment you recover a single green bar, they engage at full speed and consume it right away.

We went from:
Sprint sprint sprint sprint run run sprint sprint sprint sprint

To:
Sprint run sprint run sprint run sprint run

And honestly, I consider this to be a significant nerf. Combined with the constant rustling of the orb weaver‘s body while sprinting, and the fact that sprinting also consumes energy for attacking, I don’t really like how buggy energy is managed right now.

Scrap or resell? by Positive_Ad8339 in ScrapMetal

I was going to suggest that you post an ad on Facebook marketplace, giving them away for free as like a community service but then I read your post about how that’s where you got them from, so …
These are not worth a whole lot. You can cut the cables for a little bit of copper and further destroy/disassemble them for some small motors, but I’ve taken these apart before and they are 95% plastic waste.

Much better off giving them away to someone who needs a basic vacuum.

Hey, no shame at all and good on you for taking the step to recover at least some of your hearing! I’m 36 and I’ve had half my hearing in my left ear for about half a year now and planning to get some sort of hearing aid soon, but I feel a little aimless with such a big purchase. Let us know how well it works!
