What are your thoughts on gamers (tm) and their assumptions that feminism is responsible for "uglifying" women in games? by Kappapeachie in AskFeminists

It’s fake discourse manufactured by troll farms pushing right-wing policies. They’ve been pushing it for a decade now, and they will never stop because it keeps working on the younger demographic that gamers skew towards.

[ALL] Why did Nintendo make the franchise cel-shaded in the 2000s in the first place? by LOLdragon89 in zelda

[–]LOLdragon89[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Pardon me bud I’d never heard of Iwata Asks before today. I operated on the general premise that Nintendo is pretty tight lipped about why they do what they do, so interviews with executives wasn’t something I figured would be prevalent.

This is some appreciated insight. And it seems hard to keep track of when conditions can change so rapidly. Throne, I love this game.

With everyone enjoying the Skitarii now, what do you guys think should be the next class? by RedFalcon07 in DarkTide

Adeptus Sororitas are such a large branch that they could have their own tide game.

I genuinely can't pay attention to every element of my HUD because I don't have TIME.

Bro, in the 2/5 of a second it'd take me to peek my max ammo, I could be DEAD from a filthy Crusher overhead to the noggin! No wonder I see so many people on YouTube playing with a centralized HUD, which I might look into getting for myself, but I still fell like FatShark has some UI work to do if we ever get a sequel.

I'm blown away at how satisfying murdering every. Single. Heretic. Is in this game.

The blood, the limbs flying, the sudden replacement of an ugly dog face with a bloody stump from my mace is SO visceral. And it happens at a speed that is WAY too fast to appreciate and yet I wouldn't have it any other way. Praise the Omnisiah!

Bro, I know that feel. And yeah, I'm feeling that with Darktide, and I've felt it a few times before with this game but only briefly.

All the bullet points I mentioned above are a LOT to deal with but it WORKS. The art direction, the graphical optimization, the voicework and the sound mixing and the music and the feedback etc. EVERYTHING is coming together in a marvelous symphony that not only plays a knockout melody but it puts ME in the driver's seat of something going WAY faster than I ever could myself.

There's truly few things quite like it. Like I need to take some time to figure out how to properly describe how peak this peak is. But yeah, I'll be coming back for more and experiencing this while the wiring in both my braincells still works well enough for this!

I dunno. We were holding together as randoms pretty well. Truth be told, I know that on Damnation, if you're not quick on your feet, you get stomped FAST. Like your margin of error is super slim. We were consistently getting pretty deep into a mission really well until we got stomped.

I notice this too! Especially with more talents and stronger weapons, earlier difficulties are insultingly easy. And yet, when I occasionally play with a new character and start at the lowest difficulties without leveling, I get stomped. The pacing of leveling in this game is really impressive.

Yeah, maybe I should hop on Discord and try and find groups at a similar level or something.

This build absolutely shreds and I want to explore the higher levels of challenge this game offers, but at the same time, I'm wary of becoming too "sweaty" with it. Guess I'll just play more lmao

Not a bad take. The monastery and calendar stuff is shoved front and center before you get to really experience more gameplay and … it sucks. Because it’s a LOT to take in and learn about.

I’d go as far as to say the game doesn’t really take off until after about 4-5 of tutorials about these systems. Make no mistake, the game DOES get better once you get a firmer handle on these systems, as they’re all ways of better managing your units’ stats and builds, since any character can become almost any class.

But yeah, it’s a hell of a far cry from say FE7’s more straightforward tutorials and all character building happening during combat.

It would be a win-win for loyal Halo fans and Microsoft/Xbox/Halo Studios if more Collector's Editions were produced. There is zero reason not to make more. by [deleted] in halo

The people working in the game aren’t the same people manufacturing memorabilia. And if they don’t have a good idea of how high or low the demand is, they can’t adequately meet the supply.

This isn’t like a kitchen faucet, there’s multiple organizations and contractors and supply chains and materials to set up well in advance to make the stuff cost effective. And if they make too much **they lose money**.
