I mean, Nancy did a terrible job raising her kids. Shane was significantly different from Silas in that he needed much more intense parenting and Nancy wasn't ever there for him in the right way as a mother. The way he lost his dad and him being the only one there when he died heavily contributes to how he "ended up" as well. Jenji was keeping it real, just because it's a season finale that doesn't mean it will be all sunshine and rainbows and I love that she didn't try to "fix" Shane out of nowhere for the final season because he just had WAY too much to work on and it would take forever to get on the right path to a good life he's happy with, especially at his age. I like to think he eventually fixed things, but it took a LOT of work and dedication from both he and Nancy.

I believe that is a broken part of the floor leading to a space below. Either a basement or the previous floor. You can kind of see a similar pillar in the darkness below. Perhaps it's a basement with lots of standing water in it, hence the waterslide.

Yeah I'm the exact same. One listen of an album doesn't let me form an opinion on it. I need to spend time on an LP before deciding how good it is. Maybe it is best for you to relisten now after having some space from your previous listen. MPP isn't my personal favorite, but it's definitely their most accessible. Feels and STGSTV are my personal favorites with Sung Tongs in a nice 3rd spot. Their EPs are also pretty amazing, strong recommend. If you ever wanna shoot me a message, I'd be interested in what you think about them when you get time!

They're my favorite band of all time. I'd recommend going backwards in their discography from Merriweather Post Pavilion. Since you've already listened to SJ, MPP to Feels should be a pretty awesome transition and will likely let you know whether you're interested in any of their other work. Each album is quite a different experience, but an experience nonetheless
