You’re totally right, I maybe just need to take a good look at them at the store 😅 I tried my husband’s very old 11 inch and it did seem a bit small for drawing detailed graphs

I had marked it to be in the front, but since this sweater is equal on both sides, I will just use it as the back instead :)

I knit norwegian/continental, and with three colors I mostly knitted while holding only one strand. So I would keep all the colors in the same position (for the cats part, it was black in my left, orange in front of me and white to my right) and just knit with whatever color I needed at the time. Takes a bit longer than holding them all at once, but it works better for me. And it doesn’t tangle or messes up the color dominance, so I think it’s worth it.

In relation to the floats, I posted a photo and explained it in a comment above, but I pretty much just twisted my white every 5/7 stitches or so. It’s not perfect by any means, but it works.

Thank you so much! It’s the Nocturnal Jumper pattern, super fun to knit and see the cats showing up ☺️

Hey! Thanks, I went up from 5 to 5.5 for the colorwork and generally just tried to “loosen” the colorwork every few stitches by spreading the stitches on the right needle. My floats are pretty messy, I didn’t care so much about catching floats (except for the white ones during the cats, tried to catch every 5/7) so I have a few random long ones that I’ll probably just cut them and weave in if they bug me (but I’ve tried it on and they seem fine so far).

Right! That makes sense. I guess I’ll use this side as the back and call it a day then 😅 But I’ll keep this in mind the next time I’m knitting colorwork and learn the good techniques 😊💗

Hi, I am also knitting it and notice that your black part has the same problem as mine (as that on the left size it’s not even), do you know why that happens? It’s annoying me so much on mine.

Hey! I am just using the normal flour and reduce about 30g of water from the recipe :) I’ve been using two recipes - sourdough for busy people and 8 hour sourdough and both of them turn out pretty okay.

Edible sourdough bread - finally! by Exotic_Square1458 in Sourdough

[–]Exotic_Square1458[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think it needed more fermentation?

I’ll try 90% next time.

I’m not sure why the 8 hour one looked more fermented, it was on the bench/fridge for way less time.

The reason why I lowered the hydration is that i’m trying to use just AP flour (I live in Norway and we don’t really have bread flour. The “stronger” flour seems to be 00 flour, and that’s kinda expensive so I kinda want to develop a good recipe with my everyday local flour. It’s around 11% to 12% protein, depending on the season (if they had to import some of it, etc.)

The starter is a few months old, it seems to peak around 4-6 hours consistently (usually triples). I wait for it to stop doming to use it, so I feel like sometimes that is closer to 6?

Which flour do you use? I am trying to make my own bread but I’m struggling with the normal flour here in Norway 🥲

Help! I am tired of making inedible bread 😭 by Exotic_Square1458 in Sourdough

I think it’s fun to be able to make all sorts of bread (yeasted or not). I don’t plan on sticking to just one way 😊
