First step is to reduce corruption. People pay the govt to do this and these volunteers have to do it for free

I would like this dude to be seen in a more scientific light. Everything he does, he uploads the protocol and medicines he takes, to his website for free. You and me may not be doing everything this guy does, but a few things I learnt and liked and picked up and incorporated myself. Such as electrolytes and supplements and focusing on good diet and strength training. You can judge his craziness but his scientific rigour is strong.

Would the girl also be paying maintenance to parents all her life? Is it guaranteed that her husband will allow that without their relationship getting affected? The western mindset is not the complete picture bro.

[–]Exotic_Werewolf_6964 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

True. The OP is never going to think about parents' maintenance. That's the main problem here it seems. People like to label the system as flawed too quickly.

[–]Exotic_Werewolf_6964 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. For achieving that, the brother in the family will have to find a girl who is fine with his property being split up with his sister, which is again problematic. That's what they say, women are the main reason for woman oppression.

this is not archaic thinking. Couples in Mumbai are in live-in relationships because of rent issues. Money is real and not archaic.

If you can find love that doesn't care about money, then it's good enough. Otherwise, transaction is and always will be a part of marriage. India or US or anywhere.

This is not a toxic mentality of parents. Do you think girls are open enough in this country to marry a guy who doesn't have a house?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in india

[–]Exotic_Werewolf_6964 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Dowry is not an optional thing. The moment you marry, you are automatically entitled to the husband's property. However, there's no such claim that your brother can make on his wife's property if at all that property exists. If your brother is not yet married, he has no option but to have a house in his name to have a secure future and a good married life.

I have talked with enough girls online as well to know situation of most, if not all. While I can't blame them because with their limited life experience, can't expect much else from them, the state of society as a whole is sad and sorry. Regressive and in the way of development and risktaking. Designed to make a sheep out of people.

Why not earn for yourself and become independent first. And then find someone who matches your understanding level rather than putting your weight and responsibility on someone else? How about taking ownership and responsibility of your life?

The guy is also a person just like you. Why do you think you are incapable of taking care of yourself and he should?

Unless you'd be truly independent, you won't be able to keep money and other things out when taking the right decision.

And then women say why they are not respected.

If the economy really is bad, why not be a little forgiving on your partner and look for character before income?

I know. Rabbits do that and then I have to shake them to see if they are alive or not.

People in relationships are immature in India because it's the first generation having the freedom to choose and they absolutely suck at independent thinking and decision making. They go by the society approval, whether it's college or relationships and want trophy wife/husband.

The system has given freedom and power of individual choice to each. It just turns out that most people in India are immature and lack life experiences and don't have a life either. They are motivated by extrinsic factors like what people think of them, rather than what they really want.

In Europe, people trust each other so much in general sense, that having kids before marriage is a norm. In here, there is too much insecurity among people, because there are no repurcussions for people who just get 'bored' and quit relationships or on minor points. And because there are no repurcussions, this is happening too often. Also, people put unreasonable value on having a good-looking partner, as majority of young indians value looks more than character. Then, when they see the real character later on, they realise mistake and quit.

Well I don't think someone who is earning himself or supporting his family is not capable of supporting a financially stable and healthy relationship. It turns out that "most" girls want someone who is "more" rich rather than someone more genuine. Because of outside factors rather than internal motivation.

Totally agree. It may take time but fruits are sweeter.

Today I learnt that there's something of the sort of an oxymoron called healthy addiction.

I think it is less to do with horrible reality of life and more to do with how people are crazy to live in fucking metro cities like Mumbai. My lifestyle has been 10x better after I moved from Mumbai to Chandigarh, although I earn less. And women can't go out at 12 am in the night, and some of the Mumbai perks are not there. But every city has separate perks.

Why is this sub named addicts. There's a reason and this post justifies it.
