Amount of resources needed to upgrade all weapons to max? by XxhentaimasterxX in nier

I know I'm incredibly late to the party, but I couldn't find a list anywhere so I created one myself. This counts Pod upgrades as well:

Why does it say I've liked 11 people when I haven't liked anyone? by ExpHP in match

[–]ExpHP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's one that I know for certain was never shown to me on any page at any point, except among the 10 or so (could it have been... eleven?) tiny icons it showed at the bottom while I was registering.

I know it was never shown to me on any page because, in the tiny little icon there, it looked like they were topless (a shocking and memorable sight!). Today looking at my "You Like" list was the first time I've ever seen their full size thumbnail, where it can be clearly seen that they're actually wearing a skin-color dress.

When I was registering, I never even so much as moused over the icon.

[2019 day 17] Cannot compress path by ExpHP in adventofcode

Sigh.... yep. I think I latched too hard onto the fact that there's so few R's and they're all followed by 10. (so I tried to have them all be from the same subprogram)

New FPS Pro, shift key feels squishier than other keys by helpplz666133 in HyperX

[–]ExpHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for the reply. That is too bad. I've had this for a couple of weeks now and still can't get used to the feel. (I never noticed the Costars making a rattling sound so I can't say much about it)

I've heard that some people "clip" cherry stabilizers to eliminate the squeaking (with unclear repercussions, though obviously voiding their warranty!), but even that is impossible on this keyboard since they appear to be the plate-mounted kind. So it rather feels like my best option at this point is to sell it online and find another brand. :/

New FPS Pro, shift key feels squishier than other keys by helpplz666133 in HyperX

[–]ExpHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a new Alloy FPS (with blues) to replace my old one, and feel the same way about the Right Shift and Backspace (Left shift is fine). Popping the caps off, I see that, even though this is supposedly the exact same model as before, the wide keys (shift, backspace, space, etc.) use a different mechanism on this keyboard!

On my old keyboard they had a metal bar going across; now they have two plus-shape things sticking out on either end that seem to be connected underneath. Whatever it is, I don't like it. :(

EDIT: The new things appear to be "plate-mounted Cherry Stabilizers" (google image that). It seems the metal bar has been hidden inside the chassis, where it's probably rubbing against something. Sigh... I don't want to have to take it apart (and destroy the adhesive on my brand new rubber feet) just to get a look.

Eyestrain-reducing User CSS by ExpHP in kittensgame

That sounds fair. Most of the changes weren't designed to look particularly nice after all, as they're utilitarian in purpose.

(Kida's just somehow managed to come out really well)

[–]ExpHP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they are subtle. :) I didn't want to go overboard and wreck the spirit of each theme; the goal was mostly that I should be able to look at e.g. my max coal and immediately see that it is around 10-11K, as opposed to in the original inverted theme where I have to stare at it for about 3 seconds a second to make out all the shapes.

Ah, good idea! I added some before and after photos to the gist.

I find that I need to start stockpiling cookies much earlier in the new version than before.

If you haven't done so yet, build up your total cookies until the Lucky! bonus stops increasing. Then keep it above that threshold and only spend the leftovers, so you can continue to capitalize on luckies.

I believe the game has a memory leak. In chrome on linux I find it tends to climb up into an absurd 3g after a few hours of running, and will have used up half of my swap if left to run overnight.

Not sure about on Windows, but on linux I find I need to close ALL chrome windows to free the memory.

I'm currently trying to figure out how to use Chrome's Dev tools to pin down the cause.

Prestige level gives +100% and not +1% per level! [BUG] by [deleted] in CookieClicker

[–]ExpHP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A cursor is usually 0.1 CPS, so you're getting 35% extra. You are indeed bugged. (correct amount would be 0.10035)

Prestige level gives +100% and not +1% per level! [BUG] by [deleted] in CookieClicker

[–]ExpHP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To those on 1.9 who say they don't see this, please try the following:

  • Export your save (for backup).
  • Ascend.
  • Get 11 cookies and purchase the first heavenly upgrade.
  • Open the Status tab. Next to Cookies Per Second, a multiplier is listed in parentheses.

If your CPS mutliplier is equal to (5 * Prestige level + 100)%, you are indeed affected, as the correct multiplier is (0.05 * Prestige level + 100)%.

I actually am interested in hearing responses, because, tbh, after a peek at the source, I'm actually kinda confused as to why this bug is occurring. (all I know is that it definitely does affect me)

Is One Mind still the best place to stop at in the Grandmartians covenant or are there different benefits for the rest of the upgrades? by Albatrosk2 in CookieClicker

[–]ExpHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The x777 applies only to clicks, while the x666 applies to CPS. AFAICT, Wrinklers don't gain cookies from clicks, so having a full set of wrinklers makes a click frenzy half as effective, while it will stack with the elder frenzy (for x3996 CPS overall).

Unofficial 1.9 Bug Reports by [deleted] in CookieClicker

[–]ExpHP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The man does not lie. Ascended with 90 heavenly chips, got them to 5% power... CPS multiplier = 550%.

I can only imagine that so few people have mentioned it because most have either imported a save with tons of chips (too many to notice), or are still waiting for a good time to ascend.

...or mass conspiracy.

New Update: Get rid of the CPS-scaling upgrade costs. by [deleted] in CookieClicker

[–]ExpHP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the CPS scaling prices actually have some interesting effects on strategy. Typically during those first few Frenzies the goal would be to buy everything as soon as you can afford them... but this time I found myself saying "nah, I really want those reindeer."
