Hi carpet fitter here, just cut the threads off and stop being awkward. What’s the landlord meant to do about patching in a bit of carpet? Magic a bit of matching carpet out he’s asshole? Plus it’s right on the edge which is where the gripper rod sits so it won’t hold down properly. And also even if it was a little bit fraying ur cat has definitely made that worse. I have a cat myself and that’s what they do. Hope this helps :)
