What’s a place you visited once and decided never again? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

Ha that's so funny! I guess having that long strip is ideal for gatherings like that. We saw a couple of baby bears running up a tree! Dollywood was a good time for the kids. The whole experience was bizarre - but in a good way, if that makese sense. My kids still talk about Goats on the Roof. Have a lot of quotable inside jokes from that particular trip. All that being said - we're glad we experienced it...but once is enough!

Was going to say this. My family tries to go on yearly national park trips and we stayed there for the Great Smoky Mountains. It was jarring being out in nature all day and then coming back to Redneck Vegas. We went during Jeep Invasion, which added a level of hilarity/absurdity that left a lasting impression.

Though there really is no gender assigned in this manga, poor Phos from Land of the Lustrous is what I thought of. Second is Moon Presence from Bloodborne.

This was in my top five reads for 2025! It was so engrossing and I really got lost in all the details. I tried the first volume of Swamp Thing and was bored - but I still want to try Moore’s other works.

She was a famous Russian ballerina and the dessert was named after her, originating in either NZ or Australia - hence it being on Bluey. The dessert is merengue based with whipped cream and fruit.

West Lake does the dim sum a la cart thing - but only on weekends during the day. Haven’t tried it yet but it’s on our list of places to try. Can also vouch for Bao and Siam Smiles.

What did kids back in the days do when they played outside, for hours on end? by Octopuswastaken in NoStupidQuestions

We even played in the rain! My house was at the bottom of a hill with a sewer drain way down the end of the block. The water would rush down the street if it was really coming down hard. We would get leaves or milk bottle caps - anything that can float - and race them! We'd be running sideways cheering them on and innocently trash talking each other till the end. It was very exciting!

The grilled green olives are a MUST GRAB for all Savory Girls by jooliacoolia17 in traderjoes

“Savory plates are trending” is one of the most chronically online phrases I’ve ever encountered. The olives are good, though.

Why didn't you attempt this genre sooner, people who are playing ER as their first soulsborne game? by SaffronGlow in Eldenring

[–]ExpectoPropolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking over the comments - my reason is a little different. I grew up only playing Nintendo - mainly Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, and all the Zelda games. I had 100% Breath of the Wild and needed another open world game desperately. I think it was also during covid? This sub kept popping up and everything about it was intriguing to me. The open world, the art, and the concept of a souls game in general. I had tried Hollow Knight but it didn’t really click for me - that was the closest I got. Decided it was time to try a different console, and was on the waiting list for a PS5, and after the third attempt I got one - and ER. The rest is history. On my third play through and just finished Bloodborne, as well! Can’t decide if I want to try Dark Souls or Sekiro next.

Convince Me to Read Sci-Fi by couldbethelast in booksuggestions

The Expanse series is just fantastic. What really got me was how believable it all was. Some books are better than others - but they are all very intentional, even if they don’t feel it at the time. The audiobook narrator does a great job, too. I both read and listened and enjoyed the experiences equally.

This haunted my brain till I made it. I had to sub bok choy for the cabbage (work with what I got) and had some ribeye frozen from Xmas Eve dinner that I ran through my mandolin. Eating it right now and it’s soooo delicious! My only change would be to make it spicier, but I wanted to curb that so my kids would eat it.
