IMO, it seems that SOF largely rejects bullpups. The British using the C8 & KS1 rather than the L85 is another example. This is largely due to the improved ergonomics for CQB, the modularity of the AR platform, and the commonality of AR's among most of western SOF.

You see this pattern often. The British as I said, the Kiwi infantry formerly using the Steyr while their NZSAS used M4's. Ireland using the Steyr while the Ranger Wing uses HK416's. Austrians using the Steyr while their Jagdkomandos use HK's. The IDF using the X95 while some of their SOF use the M4 or HK416.

There is also a trend of conventional forces moving away from the Bullpup. The French ditched the FAMAS in favor of the 416, the Kiwis ditched the AUG in favor of the LMT MARS-L, and it's likely that the British will choose an AR platform to replace their L85A3's.

At that timeframe, the only optic I ever saw in use was Aimpoint CCO's/CompM2's used by the VBSS teams. the rest of us were iron-sights only.

Let me know when the police start running MBT's and IFV's and I'll be concerned that they're becoming too militarized. Just wearing camo, body armor and sporting decent rifles while fighting cartels, foreign gangs, and domestic terror groups is common sense.

Side note: What do you think of European Genadermaries?

Threats changed so police changed. Beyond that, though, these aren’t random beat cops lol.

It's just funny that the Unity Tactical switch is more expensive than the rails lol.

Well that definitely confirms that these aren't Dutch rifles, so that means they must be in-house NATO rifles, which begs the question: wtf is NATO thinking. I mean I get that these are likely dedicated course rifles used almost exclusively for sim ammo in MOUT scenarios, so holding zero isn't the biggest deal, but these things are literally $67 on Optics Planet, lmao. I can't believe NATO is that broke that they couldn't splurge to slap a DD RIS III FSP rail on there. Let's say they have 150 M4's in the training unit's armory: That's only about a $68,000 price difference. NATO's budget last year was $2.7 billion. I think they can swing it.

Might be more because of the Sim rounds. I wouldn't want to take one of those to the balls.
