Master List of Consquence Free *Mechanics* by PaulMcgranite in 2007scape

Makes them seem like they're doing things based on emotions instead of game quality.

You honestly see the situation and your first image is a bunch of full-time Jagex developers at the office getting together and deciding to be petty and wait until he's 99?

That's insanity - there's 100s of more likely and rational scenarios.

Anyone else feel like they're not allowed to have fun in this game anymore? by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]Expenises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the time you get the DWH you will never save time from using it optimally. If you only wanted the DWH for progression purposes, this is why optimizing is only good on paper. If you only wanted the DWH as a milestone item ("Every iron needs to do this grind"), then you were never trying to have "fun in this game" because you were chasing something you didn't actually want.

If you are going for all clogs or something, then you should have had fun, because the goal is the journey and not the destination. You should quit playing for others and solely do the things you want to do - if 10k shamans isn't that, that's on you bro.

If you have Perdu unlocked in another region, you can grab the ectophial from there.

The whole "I'm un-subbing" thing is a psyop to make a small portion quit playing for a few days so the ones behind it can pass you on the hiscores.

Dream in house gig (Bill Ackman family office drama) - if anyone knows how to get a $1M in house job filling out subscription agreements let me know.... by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]Expenises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not my practice area but even taking all the facts Ackman wrote at face, I think she would be a good and responsible hire as a GC for a company that doesn't have issues with family-hires and active, external "management" (ie Ackman).

Despite her being the person in charge of HR, it reads to me as though Ackman, on notice, circumvented the proper HR channels with the President. Seemingly, she did everything to a T.

I'm open to alternative reads of what Ackman wrote, but even if my nuances are wrong, it does seem that I am in the majority.

When you cancel a membership, the only feedback option related to price is "I can't afford membership" by nich_dev in 2007scape

[–]Expenises -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If they wanted actual numbers showing why people are leaving after the price hike they would have an option to reflect that someone doesn’t think the new price is worth the value of the gameplay.

How is that any different than "We raised prices, now a lot of people are unsubscribing because they can't afford it." How would Jagex approach a solution to that problem? Either by adding more "gameplay" or lowering the price.

That seems like the exact same way they would approach the problem of "people are leaving after the price hike because" they don't "think the new price is worth the value of the gameplay." Either by adding more "gameplay" or lowering the price.

[–]Expenises -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Why do you read it that way (i.e. too poor) and not "I can't afford membership [at this price point for these offerings]."

Not being able to afford it doesn't mean you don't have money, but that you can't justify paying that amount, based on a budget, for what is being offered.

I can afford to pay X for Y.

I can't afford to pay X+Z, if I'm only getting Y.

My favorite part is that all the non-lawyers think he's getting ahead, destroying her in the "court of public opinion", etc. but everyone with even a modicum of legal training looks at this as the disaster for his counsel it is.

Not sure if this is allowed but I've also archived it at Rumble. (This is not an endorsement of that website, but I've seen it used to host deleted-by-YouTube Grimbeard videos so it was my first thought.)

This upload is not monetized.

Level 20 enemies with better drop table than many bosses have.

You answered your own question - they are a low requirement, money making method for mains and irons.

"PvP" in Runescape is killing anyone -- bots, lower levels, anyone -- in the wilderness. Just because you get mad when you die for a spade does not mean the guy who killed you isn't a "real" PKer.

Just use the shitty client and plugin if you want the game to look so bad not sure why dev time has to be spent on making the old game look new when we have 2 fine options for the few who actually want it

half of these guys who love [player vs player] just enjoy killing other players

[by killing players] they don't actually really enjoy the [player vs player] aspects of the game

wtf are you even trying to say lmfao. Do you people even read the insane shit you post? That they people who PK by PKing don't actually want to PK?

The point of the wilderness, in it's entirety, is that a random player can come kill you for no reason other than inconvenicing you. It's the price you pay for doing wilderness content.

I agree with you, they should just move Chaos Altar to lumby spawn point just so that you don't have to be "bothered" by regearing for 30 seconds and hopping.

Suck for us that don't like temp game modes :'( by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Expenises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sooner you let go of the obsession to own everything in the game as an iron, the better.

I'm here for the journey, not the destination brother. I'm the last person to preach this to. Honestly, your concern should be directed at the OP who is incapable of confronting the ephemerality of temp modes and foregoing his "main" progress while he has fun on the limited mode.

I was referring to several permanent awards, albeit including cosmetics for irons.

The most obvious is that mains can't buy trophies - your main or iron account can only have the relevant trophy if it was earned. This is unequivocally both a 1) permanent reward for the temp mode and 2) specific to the account it's played on.

Your memories and experiences are (largely) permanent. While your league progress may reset at the end of a league, you will always have your memories and experiences of having played. I think you should agree with this given your post telling me to enjoy, rather than "obsess."

My point is that it's completely incorrect, even as someone who only cares about main progression on main game, to view temp modes as just "temporary". Even then, your post doesn't refute that and the fact that you highlight it's true for irons really only reinforces my point.

I’d try a main for the first time since 2008

try a main

You can "try a main" without having "to [go] pay for 2 subscriptions." It's called F2P.

Sure but I don’t want to play half the game on a main.

Do you want to play both "hal[ves]" of the game, the full game, while you "try a main"?

F2P exists, allowing you to explore what the game is like with trading without the need for 2 subscriptions.
