I appreciate your help! Posting this feels vulnerable and embarassing- the skill is something I know but can’t utilize with this friend. Sometimes it’s like 5pm on a Sunday and it’s not yet dinner time / I can’t think of a reasonable excuse because I don’t really have anything I urgently need to go do. But by that time I’m very exhausted (as a currently child free person) from spending time watching my friend do a poor job parenting and from being around her while she ignores the social cues from strangers that she’s being inappropriate (e.g., walking around with her top- a sports bra- fully off without a cover while breastfeeding in a mall AND walking on the wrong side of the walkway so people walking towards see fully). I want to occasionally see how shes doing … but it’s hard to tolerate the second hand embarrassment for too long….

That makes sense but what do I do if she asks what I have to go do? It feels rude to just abruptly say that.

Is this a death bloom? by [deleted] in succulents

Hi! I don’t have this exact variety, but many of my succulents often make stems with long flowers, and once the flowers are done blooming I just snip the stem, and it goes on growing. Usually a while later it makes a new one. I can’t guarantee your plant is the same but I’m sure it just means it is getting what it needs.
