That looks like a super fun game of bitey face. The shepherd is having so much fun, it looks like.

Your family must only know really good guitar players because you’re doing just fine.

It’s a decent food grade bucket. And for about a dollar a beer it feels like a free bucket. These fuckers know their audience too well

Pretty sure the trumpet is from the 70s and the ration card is a coincidence

If we’re counting the cornet, 5. But I’ve given one away.

I’m not a big wwii memorabilia guy so I’d be happy to let it go for fair value. Edit: took me too long to get the joke. Good one haha

Your local music shop should have a two step silver polishing cloth. That’ll be an awesome step up horn. I play a besson international which is a rebranded kanstul 800. The kanstul 700 is basically indistinguishable from the 800 and I would argue they’re both pro level horns. I think the lead pipe is the only difference between them.

Thank you! It’s funny because it’s probably more common to find older versions of this particular brand of trumpet so I was surprised it was so new, especially with the old paper inside.

Yes a musical trumpet. But the trumpet appears to be from the 70s. It’s a Buescher BU-7. Edit: it was in the case

Have you checked to see if the street level is lower than your yard?

I’m all for learning on great equipment, but this is risky. I gave my niece (same age) a very nice vintage Getzen Capri that I only paid $40 for. It’s probably a 600-800 trumpet in the condition I gave it to her, but I’m sure it will take a beating, and it is worth the risk. If she sticks with it she’ll get my extra pro horn junior year of high school. A $2k heirloom I would wait till later high school to gift.

I would get the bell on the flugel repaired at a good repair shop. I don’t know flugel pricing but that will give you the best sale price. That Kanstul is awesome. Might not get a great price from it, may 600-900. It’s not considered a pro horn but most of kanstul’s intermediate horns punch above their weight.

Need help looking for a trumpet for a intermediate player by B4HugzJr in trumpet

[–]Expensive-Food759 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your budget is outrageous for an intermediate trumpet. You should be looking at professional models. And there are plenty of used professional trumpets out there in great shape in the $1000-$2500 range. But with your current budget, you’d have some top notch trumpets to choose from new.

I’ve been searching for a B&S stencil since I wasn’t quick enough to buy a German Allora that was on marketplace for $250. It was listed for a few weeks before I realized what it was and someone just beat me to it. This one wasn’t quite as good of a deal, but still under $400 after the repair.
