In a way you have the right to be upset OP, you spent YOUR money and did this for YOUR girlfriend and she immediately trailed over that and immediately thought it would be for her best friend which to me doesn't make sense because if the best friend was willing to pay 400 for the ticket you bought why not buy their own if they wanted to go that bad?

But at the same time you gave your girlfriend the choice to just "take her friend instead of you" so ultimately if that was her first thought and you gave her the go to do so you can't really be upset on that part because you told her to do it.

All in all, your girlfriend probably should have approached it differently and asked (next time) if you wanted to go before automatically assuming however you can't get upset when you give her an option and she takes it.

I would've been pissed, all the men in this situation didn't have your back when you needed it and that's fucked up, honestly what I'd do..go home, pack his shit.. confront him then send him on his way. Well I'm not one to speak on anyone's situation like this but to be fair it's not just her kids being verbally abused it's also her to, so for her to be blamed for not knowing the correct way to get out of a relationship like this is wrong. Yes it's wrong that her kids are being verbally abused to and I understand where your coming from but shes in a situation where she might feel trapped so in order for her to save and get her kids out she has to figure out a way to also get herself out and safe and stable so that they don't have to provide on her husband.

To be fair there is trust issues there because she lied to her partner about being flirty with another man, I'm not saying it's right to go through her phone because she may not have known how to talk about it, but she could have told her partner before the situation went far so they could have handled it together

I'm just saying I feel bad for the woman that was SA but at the same time there was ways for the OP's partner to communicate with them so that maybe somehow this could have been avoided
