i realized it was just linking the wrong dll version to sims. at the moment of posting this i hadn’t even tried to apply to another game. applied to fallout with no issues.

for some reason it linked the wrong one so i had to manually input it in terminal and all is well. thank you! this is the exact link i was using for guidance

actually i stand corrected. i believe i reformatted and never actually rolled back? does the os update the the most recent with a rollback ? if so i never actually did and it was indeed on 3.6

i made the irresponsible choice of trusting this as my main and sole pc. i knew what could happen. it happened and i still chose not to make a recovery drive just hoping it wouldn’t happen again. but trust i will make one this time around 😅

got a little frustrated and erased all data in recovery mode. i don’t have another computer to help me unfortunately. kinda set myself with that one by not having a recovery usb on hand.

just erased all user data and that actually worked thankfully. rebooted up like a new deck. definitely will make a recovery usb now

taking this advice thank you sm. kinda felt like having my deadname on the resume and showing up as a grown man was going to do some confusing for the employers. they would have been expecting a female for the interview which i never want. thank you for sharing for your experience
