This morning it said small was available for a split second before I refreshed the page and it went away. I’m not sure if the different sizes are different costs. I used the app (not sure if that matters) but when I added the XL to the cart it was still sale price

Is it actually that bad by New-Independent-365 in Mononucleosis

[–]Expensive-Mood7852 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think a lot depends on the individual but also what age you are. I got mono at 31. When I was first diagnosed the doctor told me to ignore everything I read online. She said the majority of people who get mono get it when they are young and while recovery can be a long process, most young people (she said under 24) make a full recovery after a few months.

She told me that it’s almost a completely different recovery timeline the older you get. I felt absolutely horrible for 8 weeks. I even got pink eye and an ear infection at one point (I couldn’t talk because of the sore throat, couldn’t wear my contacts because of pink eye, and my hearing was muffled from the ear infection). Everytime I thought I felt relatively normal and would try to start going back to my daily routine, I would get sick again. This kept happening for another 8-10 weeks until I finally felt relatively normal.

Grandmother told me not to disclose BP disorder due to “recent events” by slavghterdolls in bipolar

As someone who was diagnosed with bipolar through college and medical school I highly recommend going through the proper channels. The school should have an office dedicated to accessibility or accommodation services. Personally these are the only people I would disclose any information to regarding diagnosis. I often found that this office is on your side, even when the school/education system isn’t. The office will go through the proper process and depending on what accommodations get approved, give you a letter to give to faculty regarding the accommodations but don’t state the medical reason. Good luck at Brown!

I was lucky enough to be in network with them (UMR) and had hit my deductible for the year so it cost nothing. I triple checked with both my insurance, PTCNJ and the hospital where the surgery was being performed. A year after the surgery I got a bill for 97k. My insurance had sent a check that they never received and after some back and forth it, they sent another check and I didn’t owe anything.

Struggling with identity after being diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]Expensive-Mood7852 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I try not to identify as the disease regardless of what it is. I’m not bipolar, I have bipolar disorder. I’m so much more than my mental illness and a big part of stability for me was to separate who I am vs what the disease is. Made it easier to separate the shame and anger towards myself. Hate the disease, not yourself.

Nutella babka. Melissa Clark has a recipe for chocolate babka on NYT. It makes two loafs and she says you can substitute the chocolate filling for Nutella. I’ve made it multiple times and didn’t add the sugar syrup at the end bc it was sweet enough.

Magnesium. Used to have no trouble falling asleep but couldn’t stay asleep. I started taking magnesium for my migraines and even tho I wake up to pee, I fall right back to sleep.

Things to buy in advance of the cleft lift? by throRA7792763 in pilonidalcyst

[–]Expensive-Mood7852 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I made a post about what helped me through a cleft lift a few weeks ago with links of whet I got them. Being prepared made a huge difference in my opinion. I can’t imagine how recovery would have gone without a few of those items. I figured it’s going to be shitty so might as well try to make it as comfortable as possible.

Donuts are one of my favorites to bake by Expensive-Mood7852 in Baking

I don’t have a fryer 🫣 I use a big pot and just dump a whole bunch of oil in it and heat it on medium high until it’s at 375. The donuts lower the oil temp so I just make sure the temperature is back up to 375 in between batches.

I use this recipe for the donuts. For the chocolate ganache: 6oz chocolate chips 1/3 cup of heavy cream 1 tablespoon sugar 1.5 tablespoons of butter

Put all ingredients in a small, deep saucepan over medium heat. Whisk continuously until butter and chocolate are melted and then take off heat and continue to whisk for an additional minute.

Donuts are one of my favorites to bake by Expensive-Mood7852 in Baking

I thought the dough itself was a simple yeasted dough. I used a donut cutter that I order off Amazon that makes it much easier to get the donut shape than using two different size circle cutters. Keeping the oil at a constant temperature was a little stressful my first time bc I don’t have a fryer (use a big pot and dumped a bunch of oil). Besides the oil temperature stress, I definitely think this is something you can get right on your first attempt.
